Plane shift can drop you up to five hundred miles from your intended destination.
This time they land in some woods, at sunset, near a remarkably flat and smooth path that looks like a lava flow or something.
"Oh, we can fight stuff. Might have to travel a little, K's got the town pretty well cleared out."
" - do we know if that's safe? Anything in LA that's badder than disorganized vampires?"
"Yes," he says curtly. "They should probably stay out of LA and certainly not draw attention there."
Thumbs up. "Stick to movies for now. We'll figure out later if there's anything around worth fighting. Besides Lurconis the baby-eater, that seems like a very rude thing to sic you on."
"Nah, he's off in some hell dimension, we just happen to know where a passage to him is. He's a big snake thing with a nigh indestructible skeleton."
"You guys have any more questions, or should I let Dennis go back to getting a comprehensive spell list?"
"Cool."
Dennis is flipping through the notebooks again.
"Can you guys raise the dead?"
"I can only do it myself once I can cast fifth-level spells, and even then I can only raise people who died recently. If I wanted to resurrect someone who has been dead longer, I'd need seventh level spells, which very few people have. But at home I could purchase their services."
