When she thinks she can see him without crying again, she holds her baby close and walks silently back to Rana's.
The room has been replaced with - something else. She has no idea what this means. She has nobody to ask but Rana. Everything she asks places her further in his debt, of course, but it hardly matters now.
She steps inside.

She holds the door open so time doesn't stop again and glances over to gauge how concerned all the weird not-fairy people are right now.
He's watching kind of neutrally and not wearing one of his more intense faces.
She's sitting backwards in a chair, not even paying that much attention to them.
Pretty concerned, but trying not to be, like, super obvious about it.
So I guess he's probably going to get his brother now.
Seems likely.
We'll get an explanation but I wouldn't count on it being -
- once under some complicated circumstances my brother was kind of evil and most of the people on that continent died.

She heads over.
"Hey. So, um, I think you said you didn't have all of your kids with you? And we have a way of maybe getting them back, but we'd need to know more about, like, where they are and what the situation is."
"They're in Scandinavia, with the Emperor. Slowed down, like most humans. I don't - I would appreciate the help, but I think I'd want to talk about it after Rána gets back?"
"I expect he'll have questions. And I don't know what sort of help you're offering."
"Um, I think it's a teleportation thing. For moving things from one place to another instantaneously. We're gonna use it to get my kids back, too, from my world."
"...sounds like it could be useful. I really think we should talk about it later."
"So where I'm from there isn't any slavery but there are lots of men who don't like their girlfriends to talk to other people and absolutely all of them are bad news."
