"There you are! It took you long enough.", the Abbess said, somehow conveying 'snarl' and 'obedient respect' simultaneously by voice alone.
The object of her respect and/or disdain didn't deign to acknowledge her words. He simply hefted his kidnapped passenger and replied, curtly, "The Baron is here. We leave now."
She nodded and turned back to the control panel to check that the mirror was opening properly, but never reached it. A thump on her head preceded stabbing pains across her face and shoulders. He stumbled, but in the distraction Agatha pushed herself off him and Violetta was moving to interpose. Damnation, all three were between him and the mir-
There was a brilliant flash of green light.
Agatha felt a strange ripping sensation and saw a blindingly bright flash of green. She tried to brace herself for the impact with the wall, but none came, and she planted face-first on floor before her sight returned.
Krosp's eyes were closed when the flash hit and he landed on top of Agatha, so he reacted faster, looking up to get his bearings. What the devil had just happened? Where were they?
