"Most of these golems are completely magicless, and most of the rest seem to be very simple. I was figuring out what was up with the books."

"Riiiight. Magicless as in not-golems or magicless as in needing a recharge?"

"First thing, they all need a recharge."

"So... Not-golems?"

"Not-golems," he nods.

"Gotcha. Randomly or near the front?"

"Near the front." He points. "These are simple." Point. "That one is enormously complex."

"Wait, they're different golems with the same body-thing? Huh..."

"Yeah. My guess is that they wanted to make all of them the complex type but didn't have the time for one reason or another."

"Cool. Some great golems, some okay golems, and some empty statues that would have been. Let's us look at all of them!"

Smiling. "So, uh, does Metamancy taking your magic hurt? I can like, supply, I shouldn't need a few blessings... I don't know what you need to do things, no haul on that." ('no shit')

He blinks. "No, it doesn't hurt at all—erm, really? That—that would be very nice."

"Well, I don't really want to carry all these golems out of here, and that'll take a bunch of magic to do either way. I'd rather walk out with my new golem army instead of going back to town for a pulley system. You're a good person, probably."

Mumbling addition as she switches her blessing, "I probably don't need stuff against weather right now... This one works."

"Actually you should find something truly useless. I can make it so you recharge blessings while they're not active while I'm around, too."

"Oh, that's really useful!... Uhm, everything else I've used at least once since I met you..."

"Something that makes your skin electric?" he suggests. "Metallokinesis? Seeing in other wavelengths?"

"... Uh... The metal-one I kinda have, but like... It's a rock-thing?..." She sighs. "Do I need to actually make new blessings for you to take?"

"Yes that's what I was getting at, obviously any blessings you've used before are by definition useful at least in the situations you used them."

"Okay... Wavelengths." Cynthia starts pacing. "Like, thermal-vision. Cool." Click. "There, another one to keep track of. And... Electric-skin? That sounds painful. Well, not painful, but, weird? Why would you even need that?" She stops pacing and looks at Kaede.

He shrugs. "You don't need to actually have a blessing active for me to, ah, borrow it, you just need to have ever used it in your life. And it'll just feel like you're losing mana." He starts grabbing the thermal vision blessing's mana.

"Huh. Kinda weird paying attention to it going away, like I'm internally messing up somewhere but not really. Would be pretty horrifying if I watched like, my fire blessing go down and down and being terrified thinking I'm burning something! Cool."

Cynthia spins once in place. "Gotcha! Sure." And then in a faux-evil voice, "and with this the pact is sealed, new Vinkarite." Giggles.

"Now back to trying to remember how to salvage old books... Uhm... What's ink made of again..."

"Depends on the ink but honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the answer to this one is 'something that shouldn't be ink but magic,' these people seem terribly wasteful. Also all of the books are artefacts."

"... Artifact books? I was going to just trace the ink not-physically then rewrite onto new paper and read off of that. Kinda breaks the plan."

Sigh. "What do I even do then?"

"Well you can serve as a battery," he says, smirking, "and also I can project the books' contents for you to read, too."

Shrug. "I'll just make copies anyways, I can read them and bringing a copy back is a good idea anyways. Just do the recharge-thing and take like, anything but like the earth-moving and phasing and flying if you need it. Probably leave the perception one too for now..." She counts on her fingers. "Yeah that'll probably work."

"Sure. They'll be recharging in the background, anyway, I can keep that active without paying attention to it."
