A small fox sniffs curiously at the sign and the little warren. Is this too good to be true...? There's only one way to find out!
In he goes!
There are several flower-themed cookies: landscape-painting cookies with fields of wildflowers, or flower-shaped cookies with their petals drawn in brightly coloured icing. As for fire-themed cookies, there's just one, an irregular polygon with black and grey and reddish icing decorating it to look like a lump of coal.
"Ooh, clever," he says of the coal-lump. "I'd like this one, please? Maybe if I-forgot-her-name visits our place after all you can do one of the phoenix flowers later."
"Ember?" she guesses. "Go ahead!"
The coal-lump cookie has a strong, sweet flavour that seems to call to mind echoes of pleasant or satisfying meals from the past.
He goes slowly and savors the experience, just like everything else the dungeon has to offer!
"That sounds likely. My Big Guy is probably about a three on the nice-mean scale? We've got puzzles and the puzzles can sometimes hurt you, and I'll get bitey if intruders get mean, but we've also got permission to let them pass peacefully if they seem nice."
"Mm! I'll look forward to it. I can only assume you like baking cookies? I could enjoy baking, maybe. Mostly as an extension of my appreciation for fire..."
"I'm glad you like it! That floor is new, and Ember and Luna aren't sure yet what they want their rooms to look like, but Luna wanted to try a hot spring so I built one for her."
"I think we're all going to grow somewhat quickly. It's exciting. There's a lot of creative things to come."
He nibbles on the cookie.
"If you offer food on other floors you may even defeat them via gluttony!"
She giggles. "But I don't want to defeat anyone! I want to feed them delicious cookies!"
"Alas! I should have served you a smaller cookie! It's just so much more fun to make them enormous..."
"I should probably go get what I came here for. The Big Guy has lots of ideas. But if I ever come visit again... I'm partial to cinnamon and raspberries!"
She smiles. "I'll remember that! Here you go."
A tap of her enormous piping bag against the side of a cabinet opens a secret panel, and the dungeon's core descends, round and white and faintly luminous like a big glass pearl.
