He didn't get permission to stay in Cheliax without renouncing Erecura. He didn't really expect it. He could have asked for a favor from the Archduchess and moved to Kintargo, for a lifetime of permission... But he doesn't really want it. He has commune questions; he heard from a book Iomedans have an efficiency protocol for them and paid one a dozen gold to give him the very short basic version of how to pack more questions in. He couldn't get a handle on how to use 'unclear' on purpose, but the trick of having some clarifying questions be different based on Yes or No made sense enough.

But he's thought about where to ask, and he can't come up with anyone he could ask but Pharasma. So it's either Ustalav or Osirion. And Osirion has the Oracle of Nethys, who has taken an interest in one of his friendly colleagues from the Occularium once, so it's worth asking her anyway. Ask her if she accepts, buy one full commune from Pharasma, and then one question from Abadar.

He stops by Tibex's home and asks him to execute his will. It's not necessary but it is easier than offering him exactly as much money as he feels entitled to take and no less.

And then he visits his favorite landmarks of the city, pays one last visit to his family; disinheritance or no, they deserve to say goodbye. And heads to the docks for his ship to Alexandria and Sothis.

And eyes his present list of Commune questions:

Was Erecura free to choose a plane other than Hell as her residence when she first arrived there?

Is Erecura currently free to move her residence to a plane other than Hell?

Was Erecura once a mortal servant of Pharasma?

Branch:
> Yes: Did Erecura steal a method of immortality or something similar from Pharasma?
> No or Unclear: Was Erecura once mortal?

Does continuing to accept spells and channels from Erecura empower Asmodeus or any of the archdevils?

Branch:
> Yes: Does it empower Asmodeus or any archdevil other than Dispater?
> No or Unclear: Does it empower Hell or any other power of Hell, excepting the extent to which it empowers Erecura herself?

To Abadar:

Were any of the answers I received to my commune to Pharasma false or intended to mislead me?

Six and one. Space for at least three more. If he can't think of anything better he could ask about her moral opinions on immortality methods; if he got his nearly-ethical lichdom project working, would she still hate it? But that's really not worth the curiosity, unless Pharasma's priests will only sell him a whole commune and not split it with another buyer. He has some time.

And then there will be another ship. To Absalom, or to Rahadoum. You'd think he got as far as teleport, the number of countries he's lived in for at least a month or two.
