By the time Victòria finishes painting, she still has some time before she thinks she'll be tired enough to sleep. Reading committee transcripts seems like it would probably be a good idea, even if she kind of only came up with it because she was annoyed at Delegate Jornet, so she sits down with a copy of the Virtuous Churches transcript borrowed off another delegate.

Our proposed list of gods Whose churches are anticipated to be suitable for these donations follow (note that this is a subset of the recommended list of permitted churches, consisting of those who are of particularly unimpeachable social value and institutional establishment)

She doesn't actually care about whether people can give Calistrians money instead of paying taxes, but she really doesn't want anyone trying to get Calistria banned, the way Delegate Curto was saying a couple days ago. And if she tries to add up how the other people on Rights would vote, she's not sure she can get a right to worship any god that's not Evil and not of the Lower Planes. So probably she should be making sure the Virtuous Churches committee includes Calistria on the list of churches that are allowed.

Is Laia still around?

Laia's a night owl! She's just put Eloi to bed, it's his job to drag her out of her room in the morning when she has to go drink coffee and do convention stuff. She's putting the pews up against the wall after the evening service to make room for emergency and scheduled late-night channels and twirling through the space thus created, humming.

Oh, huh, it didn't occur to her to go help with that but she totally could.

"Want me to grab the other end?"

"Sure, thank you!"

She's not very strong, but she can carry half of a pew!

They're pretty chunky pews, even with all their carvings chipped off and the bolts that used to secure them to the floor removed (the Asmodeans never needed the sanctuary for channels), but they can be dragged by one person or carried by two. Soon they are all out of the way for the night.

Once they've gotten them all out of the way:

"There was actually something I wanted to ask you about, do you have a minute?"

"Of course, what's on your mind?"

"I was looking through the Virtuous Churches transcript from today, and I saw you were working on a list of allowed churches, and I was wondering, uh, how you're deciding which ones are going to be allowed."

"- do you mean the list of which churches people can divert tithes to, because that's a very narrow list -"

"—no, that one being small makes sense to me, just, some of the nobles were talking the other day about how they want to ban Calistria—"

"Oh! No, our list doesn't ban Calistria. I think if the Queen wanted to ban Calistria she wouldn't have invited you!"

Well, now she feels a little silly for being worried!

"Thanks, I really appreciate it."

"You're welcome!"

...She feels like she should have more things to say but apparently she doesn't need to say any of her reasons why she thinks being a Calistrian should stay legal. She's going to go see if any of the cisterns need topping up, and maybe Laia will say something or maybe she won't but either way it won't be up to Victòria to come up with something else.

Laia's back to twirling through the sanctuary. She is trying to gesturally convince a shy-looking woman who came in and hasn't said anything yet to join her. Twirl twirl!

Victòria doesn't super want to twirl but it's not like she's going to try to stop anyone else from twirling. The left cistern by the entrance is a little low; she fills it up and heads back towards her room.
