Sergia accepts compliments gratefully, offers cookies to anyone who holds still long enough, makes an appropriately impressed face at a couple of giant bruises, and eventually spots Lucia. Who's practicing her form, because of course she is. Lucia is going to kick all their asses someday.

"If I may interrupt for a moment? I have cookies!" She holds out the bag to Lucia and Migliorotto both, and adds "You looked totally badass out there!" to the former.

"These are so good! This is the best thing I ever tasted! Who made this? Oh, I'm probably just doing that thing where everything tastes good if I'm hungry. Um, not to insult the cookie. That is such a good cookie. Can I have another one?"

"Thank you," Migliorotto says without taking a cookie, and nudges Lucia with an elbow.

"Oh! Also thank you! You were also very cool!"

"Thank you! And they're Arnkatla's; I'll make sure she knows they're popular. Hey, can you help me find Roger? I want to make sure he's okay and I think I owe him the chance to yell at me." Also this is really not the time for studying and she's pretty sure Lucia will be better off for having a break even if she's trying not to look like it.

Lucia DOES want a break but she has not expressed this desire to Migliorotto, who preemptively informed her that she is fine. Apparently she doesn't look like she's that tired, and he had several notes to go over with her.

She also kind of does not want to go look for Roger because once her knight is done talking to her, she wants to immediately throw all of her armour on the ground and then pour a bucket of cold water over her head. It gets hot and sweaty enough in armour when you aren't blocking fireballs! She smells like a dead raccoon that has been rotting quietly in the crawlspace under the porch for a month because nobody could figure out where the smell was coming from!

"What is he going to yell at you for?" she asks, stalling for time.

"If he's injured, did you see him make it to healers? If not, you should let others know to look for him."

Migliorotto didn't see what happened to Roger, but knows enough about his general hellion nature to immediately be taking this seriously.

"I saw a healer get to him, he's probably fine, I just want to check in on him." Come on, let Lucia go, everyone else is popping tops, you know you want to . . .

Lucia looks back and forth between her knight and her friend.

"And you need... moral support for the thing where he's going to yell at you?"

"Yeah. And just a second pair of eyes." Honesty compels her to add, "but I'll be fine if you want to go put your armor away and stuff," even though saying this makes it less likely she'll achieve that.

"Go right ahead, Lucia. You did good work today," Migliorotto says. He pulls his helmet off, shakes a mane of silver hair free, and then remembers he's a grumpy old asshole duke. "Just be back here for cleanup, and don't forget about that footwork. We can do ladder drills at practice."

She did good work today!!!!!

"Thank you sir!"

Lucia watches her knight wander off with a delighted grin on her face, then turns to Sergia. "I can just take off the cumbersome stuff," she offers. "I'll be faster if I'm not clanking with every step."

She makes the classic triangular shade with her sword propped against her shield as a matter of habit, though there's absolutely no need right now to keep her helmet out of the sun. Her helmet gets tucked neatly underneath. She wriggles out of pauldrons and vambraces, then flops in the dirt to undo the buckles behind her knees.

"So you didn't explain why he's going to yell?"

"I teleported him out of--well, out of the dragon's mouth, and he started yelling at me then, but I was too in the zone to understand him and then I ran off to do something else. He's probably either mad that I didn't get him out faster or, knowing him, mad I didn't give him time to get one more stab in. But I should give him the chance to say it while I'm paying attention."

"Oh. I would actually maybe give Roger some time to cool off about that?" She lowers her voice. "Roger has... I don't know if anyone's told you his deal and I don't know if I'd be violating his privacy if I told you, but..."

"If it's not my business it's not my business, I can let him yell at me in a week or three if you think that'd go better without having to know why." She knows Roger has some kind of Entire Situation and that it's probably related to his level of courage, but not much beyond that.

"Oh he's not going to yell at you in a week or three, just let Reynhard get to him first and he'll realise if he's being a dumbass. I'm guessing he was trying to do something objectively insane and you rescued him from himself because - honestly that's usually how that goes?"

"That's certainly what I intended to be doing; if he decides he's fine with it so much the better. You want the other half of this pickle?"

"Yes! I would love that, thank you!"

Lucia gratefully devours half a pickle.

"So your first real battle! Did Sir Nicole let you get anywhere near the action?"

"Nah, she told me to stay out of it, so I mostly hung out with the healers and grabbed people who got hit. And at the end I climbed a tree to help Prince Gabriel get some altitude. I guess we'll find out if that was a good idea or not sometime this week."

"So that was you? That was awesome! I didn't know His Highness could fly."

"Maybe he just got the thing for it. Speaking of getting things, I wonder what they're finding in the dragon's hoard." She's not personally interested, since she's not going to be the optimal person for any of it, but cool shit is cool shit.

"...Did you think you weren't allowed to go look? Is Sir Nicole not letting you?"

Shrug. "She didn't say anything about me looking or not looking and I didn't ask. I'm not sure there's a point to me going through stuff when I've only had one fight and barely know what virtues I want to focus on yet, but if you want to go have a look I'd come along."

"Is there some reason you don't think going to go loot a dragon's hoard is insanely cool? Because you're wrong! So wrong! You could be like 300% more excited! Is something wrong?"
