When Sasha is walking home from school, he stumbles across the smallest and most adorable dog in the world.
"I'm supposed to keep warm and drink water and sleep when I'm tired. If I try to take the blankets off don't let me."
"I love you." Leo is very warm and Sasha is very snuggly and loves him very much.
"I brought orange juice and cough medicine," Asher says. "Which I paid for, instead of stealing."
"I'm tired even though I've literally only gotten out of bed to use the bathroom, and I know I should eat but I can't make myself do it, and I'm cold even though I have a blanket and a Leo, but I have a Leo so it's okay."
"I could try to get you to eat but probably I should hypnotize you less so that you don't start eating bugs."
"That's probably a good idea. I'd invite you to join the cuddlepile but unfortunately I'm supposed to be keeping warm."
Sasha smiles up at him and cuddles Leo and doesn't have nearly enough energy to think about the implications of that statement but files it away to do so later if he remembers which he probably won't.
"Leo is extremely soft and good and snuggleable," Sasha announces to nobody in particular.
Sasha's eyes were already closed, so he has no idea this is happening.
He does feel how Leo's body language changes, and responds to this by being even snugglier.
Asher bends over and kisses his forehead. "I wanted to see that you were okay."
Asher gives him some cough syrup.
"I've also been feeling weird since I ate Lilith."
He sits up long enough to swallow the cough syrup and then collapses. "How so?"
"Like. I've been following laws even when it is mildly inconvenient. I didn't steal the cough syrup! I crossed the street at the crosswalk instead of jaywalking! I felt this urge to pay my rent instead of mind-controlling my landlord!"
