When is the part where he gets to eat her.

Yeah okay he is not going to be able to deal with this much longer.

"He's gay and so am I. Weren't we going to talk about the other obvious metaphor?"

"That's cool!" Lilith says cheerily. "Which metaphor?"

"...it sure does feel like my life is a fantasy novel nowadays," because if he's going to go 'fuck subtlety' he might as well go all out.

"I'm not sure I know what you're talking about!"

"...are you sure?"

"I don't know, why don't you say it instead of doing subtext?"

She adjusts her spaghetti straps. The amount it makes her breasts jiggle seems more like habit than intent to flirt.

"The other day I met a vampire and I found out one of our classmates is a unicorn and I'm told you're a fairy princess and I have no clue what the hell is going on."

"...Unicorns are real?"

"Apparently. I don't know what traits they have other than 'dangerous to vampires,' though."

"All of my life I've-- seen things-- and no one else saw them and everyone told me that I was making them up but I wasn't. And then two weeks ago I got a-- vision-- they said my parents aren't my parents, my real parents are these fairies I never met, and I'm supposed to go back and I haven't even graduated high school-- I'm supposed to have a dog and I don't, I think he must have gotten hit by a car or something--"

Oh thank god she isn't looking for Leo.

"Yeah. I'm sorry, I only started noticing things pretty recently and as far as I know I'm just a vanilla human, I don't — at least being royalty in Faerie doesn't sound like a bad life?"

"I've never been to Faerie! I don't think they have television there! Or the gay-straight alliance! Or anything I do with my life."

This conversation involves way too little of Lilith being food.

"Yeah. You probably aren't wrong. I'm sorry about — everything."

How does he go from here to 'being cruel to people all the time constantly and making them have panic attacks with your magic: stop that.'

"And nobody EVER keeps their promises." Lilith hugs Sasha. "You're the only person I've ever met who knows that promises are important."

Gah!!!!!!!!!!!

'I avoided making a promise to you because it's a terrible idea not because I care intrinsically,' he doesn't say, because he is not stupid.

"I think — there's a thing that happens where people make promises under pressure, and then wind up not being able to keep them even if they try. I try really hard to avoid that but it's only because I've seen it happen lots of times before."

"People shouldn't make promises if they're not going to keep them," Lilith says sincerely. "Promises are important."

She's still hugging Sasha.

"Lots of people don't realize they won't be able to keep them, or don't think they're in a position to say no when they're asked to promise something. I know it's really bad, but — it's usually not something wrong with the person, it's something wrong with the situation they're in."

Gah! Gah gah gah.

"You still shouldn't break promises! I would never break a promise, no matter what situation I was in. I never have!"

"...it's great that you can do that but lots of people can't."

Looks like hugging Lilith is just the thing that he's doing now. Gah.

The flesh sacks are being Very Pressed against him!

"There's nothing more important than keeping your promises. Promises are the most important thing."

'For me the most important thing is surviving. That doesn't mean I'm immortal,' he doesn't say.

"I'm really sorry," he says. "It must be awful to have people breaking their promises to you all the time."

"It is," Lilith says sincerely. "You understand me."

'Yeah, and I still mostly think of you as the bitch who made Marlo cry,' he doesn't say.

"I've read a lot of fairy stories," he says.
