It is difficult to overstate how much he does not want to get into the — thing — with Seku, but he's not going to say that. Instead he describes two random bits of recent gossip and then asks about Dejah's work. 

Dejah has several interesting, if occasionally incomprehensible, things to say about her work before she's called away for a state dinner!

Awesome! He very sincerely wishes her a good night, and then goes silent when she leaves. 

"Excuse me, Marlo, I have to make a call privately before we leave."

"Yes, Senator." 

He waits wherever it seems least intrusive to. 

The Senator mostly ignores him on the flight back.

That's fine by Marlo. 

Elvee hugs him when he gets back.

"I missed you!"

"I missed you too." 

He sits down with Elvee, puts his head on Elvee's shoulder. 

Elvee was BORED and he spent a lot of time researching this obscure Force user cult that thought the only Force power it was legitimate to use was increased agility.

Marlo would love to hear about this obscure Force cult. 

He is going to hear about this obscure Force cult and Elvee is going to pet his hair!

...oh. 

That's really nice. He wasn't expecting that to be so nice.

Marlo is happy.

The next few days are uneventful.

Uneventful is a nice change! 

Uneventful ends one afternoon when he gets an unsigned message on his console:
