"Makes sense... and depending how your agelessness works we might have a solution for that or at least something to ameliorate the problem. Sorcery can transfer lifespan between people."

"Do you think- is there a way to test if mine is infinite? As long as I phase, you could make everyone immortal." 

"You're completely new magic so it might be infinite. What we would be dealing with is a component of lifeforce known as Youth, which it isn't quite about being young - more about the organism being stable. Trees have Youth too, but it doesn't erode like Youth in humans. Maybe yours is like that and since you're very close to human we might figure out a way to transfer the trait to humans, or make people into werewolves or..." Fernanda shakes her head but then smiles, "I'm getting ahead of myself."

"No, it's good. I'm excited too. I always wanted to be a nurse like my mom, or a doctor, but if I can make people immortal just by existing, that's better than I ever pictured." 

"Well, yes, it's great. The regeneraiton would be a great boom by itself - transfering health is possible to - and you could become a healer. How your mom is going to react to all this? Or your tribe for that matter?"

"My mom will be worried about the imprint, and she doesn't know that I'm a shapeshifter...the tribe will be happy I imprinted but not be sure how to handle the pack issue- I think if I have to phase without them again, I'll start to- it's not good." 

"I will do my best not give your mom reason to worry about me. There is likely a magical solution to the pack problem and if there isn't... How amenable would your pack be to me moving in? Plus or minus Felicia, Katur and a magic teacher? Someone is going to be interested in werewolves well enough that they will want me for an aprentice just on the grounds of being attached to you."

"I don't think they'll want to move. But they won't want me to be away from you, so if you stay, they'll try to find a way." 

"Aiming portals is difficult but depending how the pack-telepathy works we could arrange one so werewolves could periodically visit some distant part of Elsewhere and chat with werewolves on this side. It would be benefical for you tribe even, if vampire are a prob-"

"How dangerous are vampires?" She asks suddenly alarmed, "Do you know if they should have more lifeforce like you do? If some find Elsewhere like you did..."

"They will, they're immortal too."

Fernanda stands up. "Okay, we need to tell Henry about the threat so he can tell the High-library to be on the look out."

Henry wants some basic information about vampires so he can report what they're supposed to expect.

Gabe whispers a comment about feeling left out being the only one present without a facedouble.

"Fast, strong, smell like flowers to humans, drink blood, really strong poison...they hunt in small groups, two or three at a time." 

"How about burning on sunlight and being alergic to garlic?"

"They don't burn. Everything about them makes humans want to see more. They smell sweet, they sparkle in the sunlight, even their voices sound good. To humans."

Henry gives him a confused look over "sparkle in the sunlight" but notes the information.

The twins update each other and Fernanda borrows their phone to call Kartur.

"How are you holding up?" Felicia asks Scott.

"I'm okay. Trying to think about what we can do together. Healing people. Not other stuff."

Felicia gives an awkward laugh. "That is definitely what Fernanda would do, yes."

"What's she like? I don't really know her that well."

"Fernanda is the best person I know. I doubt there is a single human being in all known multiverse that is so invested in improving the entire thing. She can come off as cold to people that don't know her well, but the truth is that she is very strong-willed, determined, compassionate, logical and brilliant. She will do her best to improve the quality of life in your tribe and like succeed at it."

"She sounds impressive. What about you, what are you like?"
