And they are....elsewhere. It is very bright, after the near-twilight in Eriape's lair, and quite hot.

There's a streetside cafe, sitting on a hill, with a view in one direction towards a mountain-sized beetle (plainly very dead). A slight rainbow shimmer runs across the gleaming black chitin shell in the bright sunlight. In the other direction is a view down into the lower city.

It's nice that her Garment is suitable for any temperature.

She photographs the giant beetle shell, then looks to Eriape. "Want one with us?"

"It is an Instant Painting? Yes, if Haria can be in the Picture Too! She can Levitate if Needed."

"It adds it to my collection of pictures! I can't currently print it but I do like to have them."

She will use the front facing camera and start herding everyone into frame. (Eriape and Harià can see a live preview.)

Haria hovers a bit over their heads

Eriape grins even wider than usual, and makes the sparks of arcane fire in her eyes glow brighter than usual, bright enough to be seen in the intense sunlight.

Coriander smiles for the camera and takes the picture. Her phone plays a clicky noise emulating a device Eriape has never seen.

"There we go!"

"Excellent! Now, for the Human Refreshments." Then she spots someone peeking around the doorframe. "Merytamu! I am Back!"

His first instinct is to hide, to pretend not to be open. But it's not the first time the- creature- has come here. Sometimes it looks different. Sometimes it has humans with it. Sometimes it pays in gold. Sometimes it haggles. Sometimes it demands fresh moles.

But it must be very powerful, and It has never hurt him or his family.

"Honored Eriape."

She doesn't understand him. Aside from Eriape's name. When Eriape doesn't immediately say anything, she looks a bit concerned.

"I speak fluent English. Yo hablo un poquito Español."

It doesn't seem to ring a bell for anyone here.

Oh well, introductions time. Point to Eriape. "Eriape." Point to him. "Merytamu." Point to herself. "Coriander."

Adventurers never know the local language. He points to a bucket. He points to a nearby coffee cup, left on a table. He points to his stomach. He points to Coriander

"Eriape, we have A Spell for Languages."

"Yes, Fun as Charades Is, I can Prepare a Spell for This. In the Meantime, Coriander, if you Tell me what you Want, I can Have Merytamu Bring you What you Desire.."

There are pictures. She's pretty sure that this one is showing a bean and bread dish, which sounds reasonable. …the water here might not be safe.

She'll point at the dish. "I'd like this, and something to drink. Do you know if the water here is safe for humans?"

"They have a Cleric Come By in the Morning and Purify It. It is Fine. He Saw me Once but he is Abadaran and I Paid him to Talk to Me."

"She'll have that."

"Is this the kind of place where they give you water with the food by default?"

"Yes and Also Bread and Some White Stuff I think is Salt! It is a Fancy Place because of the Views!"

"Salt is useful. I use a lot of it for crafting runes."

"Neat! I Rarely Use it Because I am Undead and I have spells to Preserve the Things I need. One Moment Please."

Eriape pulls a spare Spellbook out of her Purse, and begins to hang the spell on her scaffold. She's quite quick, and not more than a minute later, she turns to Coriander. "Do you Want the Language Spell? It will Last for Four Hours."

“Can it wait until after I eat? I’m not sure how it interacts with Sending and eating occupies the mouth.”

"Yes it Can!"

Food is made. There's some discussion about who wants to deliver it- Merytamu's son would like to see the dangerous wierdos-  but eventually Merytamu comes out again with a plate and a carafe and a mug, all well-thrown and glazed in a consistent light blue.

Coriander smiles appreciatively and takes the food.

She's partway through a mouthful of beans when she gets a Sending. This kind of thing has happened many times before and she's not particularly startled, but she does shift her expression and chew more slowly.

«Hi, this is Caitlyn with Campus Security. Are you okay?»

«I'm in another world but I'm fine.»
