Moving. Yet again. Because this ducking stupid—
No. Get yourself under control. You know what happened that time—
Okay. New school. Mmhm. It's alright.
He arrives at the school...
"Okay. We don't have much of a nightlife. What do you like to do?"
"Well, the usual, I guess? Nightlife things, movies, dinner, ice cream, walks in the park—were you serious about scoping out crime scenes? How common would that be?"
"The crime, or the scoping? My dad's the sheriff, so I follow him around sometimes. We don't have a very high crime rate, it's a pretty boring small town."
"That's what I figured. Well, if you wanna make of that a date, I'd be down, too."
"We can start with dinner and a movie. I have Scott for crime scenes."
Man, is everyone pretty in this school?
"Sounds good to me, when's a good day and time?"
"I arrived in town yesterday and you are literally the third person I talk to here, I have not yet made plans for Friday."
Grammar, of course. Plus he has a date with a cute boy before the end of first period, that's, like, a new record.
Thus endeth first period.
The bell rings, and with a somewhat awkward "Nice to meet you", cute boy wanders off vaguely.
"It was... English, but I met this cute boy named Stiles and got a date with him so I'd say better than expected?"
"Stiles? I guess he's kind of cute, but can you get past the wall of paranoia and reach the gooey center of neurosis?"
"I did ask him out practically based on appearance and first impression, I'm not saying he and I are gonna hit it off wonderfully and get married ten years down the line and have beautiful babies, but I liked the first impression I had, he has a nice sense of humor, and I'm good with people."
"Nothing wrong with that. Stiles, really. Huh."
They arrive to math class, where it looks like Danny will be joining him.
"Worst-case scenario, we hate each other and never talk again, which would've happened eventually from normal interaction. Given the kind of person I am, though, worst-reasonably-plausible-case scenario is we find we don't really work and just stay friends or something."
"Worth a shot. Only one person has ever been able to put up with him long enough for 'just friends', so I wouldn't get my hopes up."
Is it time to define a limit? It is.
That would probably be Scott. He should meet Scott, too.
As for limits: yep. Those are easy. He knows all about 'em.
Danny doesn't have much trouble with limits either, and the teacher seems to like him.
They can talk during the lecture without fear of reproach.
"Have you taken a look at the extra-curricular activities? There's something for everyone."
"Plenty of options, I probably can't remember them all. There's fencing, debate, photography, chess, film...Amnesty International, that's one. I don't really do clubs, I spend most of my time outside of school programming and playing lacrosse."
