"Duncan! You made it." They're greeted here by a young woman with the same griffon tabard Duncan wears, with twin swords on a belt at her hips. "And with recruits!"

Friendly smile. "My name is Lys Amell. This is Briony. It's a pleasure to meet you, Ser - ?"

"Xandra. It's nice to meet you, Lys."

"I'll admit, it's good to see someone a bit closer to my age in the Wardens... Will we be working together?"

"Yeah, there's not really enough of us that it makes sense to split up for now, even counting the two recruits I brought."

Nod. "Will we get a chance to meet them before the Joining?"

"Yeah, they're over by the tents." She points. "I need to debrief with Duncan if you two wanna go introduce yourselves."

"Alright."

They'll go meet their new comrades-in-arms. Stow their things while they're at it, too.

Not that they have much - though Briony's kit's definitely heavier than Lys's.

Armor is useful!

Which is (part of) why Lys casts from behind Briony!

It's an effective strategy. 

As long as she promises to patch Briony up afterward.

So, about those other recruits...

She'll lead the way to where Ser Xandra pointed them. 

There's two recruits as promised, though they couldn't be more different. One's a dwarf, carrying a single sword - no shield, and her armor is basic, though she holds herself with confidence. 

The other is an elf, her only apparent weapons a set of daggers. She doesn't have the face markings the Dalish wear, so probably a city elf. She's spindly, and hanging back, apparently not interested in talking to her fellow recruit. Her eyes immediately jump to Lys and Briony when they approach - Briony especially. There's something both wary and challenging in her expression. "Who are you?"

"Briony. This is Lys. Duncan recruited us."

"I'm Halna; our grumpy friend is Shiremi. Ser Xandra recruited us - we haven't had a chance to meet Ser Duncan yet."

(Shiremi makes a grumpy face at being called grumpy.)

"It's a pleasure to meet you both."

"Sure."

"Did he dig the two of you out of some hole, too?"
