"That seems perfectly reasonable. I believe the point of operating in Cheliax is less speed of turnaround, and more avoiding transportation costs, especially if a manuscript must undergo multiple revisions."

"If it's acceptable to the Archmage Naima I think a proposal for this might go over well...in a few weeks, when Cheliax's laws are more established and if there are no further lich incidents."

"I will ask her. I believe she's very excited about using the Osirian censorship office to disseminate truthful information about the world and about the gods to the Chelish people, as they're currently very confused about... everything. But perhaps we can make do with existing books for the moment. ...what was the lich incident?"

"Yesterday a representative of a lich who may have been the lich herself arrived at the censorship office to request authorization of her biography so she could immediately publish it in Cheliax."

"The lich didn't kill anyone that we know of. But it was not the best possible introduction to the new law."

"I will speak to the Archmage about neutralizing the lich. I'm very sorry no one else alerted you about the law before that happened." And confused that a lich would do any of that, and not really capable of doing anything about it because she doesn't in fact work for the Chelish government or really have much idea what they're doing! But definitely sorry.

"If the Archmage Naima could do something about the lich I believe it would increase enthusiasm for her censorship board plans."

Well. It sounds like she's probably not going to get any censors from Sothis today. She's not sure whether to hope that Dahab and Rasima succeed, or to hope that they fail, given that this has apparently already created one international incident in less than 24 hours. She will hope that the Osirian censors are reasonable and make reasonable decisions, whatever those are.

She's going to spend the rest of the day going through a handful of different bookstores and getting hundreds of things off her shopping list, which includes things like "holy books", "books of theology", "accurate histories", "adventure novels", "books that promote good character and true beliefs", "anything that is sort of arguably a romance if you squint", and "anything you think will probably sell at least twenty copies of in Westcrown". She was hoping to get a few in Osirian, for a wider variety, but if they can't change a word then she's limited to Taldane for now.

It's still a start.
