"...can they do that because I am going to be useful in some way, I'm still sort of unclear on that."

"You got summoned by a summoning spell, so as best as I can figure you're a Mythos entity and it is the job of the Mythos Division to deal with you, which in this case means 'explaining to you how the world works and getting you the necessities of life until you're settled in and can fend for yourself' instead of the more usual 'killing.'"

"If you say so."

"If it'd make you feel better I can pay for it out of my own pocket."

"It - makes sense that the organization considers itself responsible for - squaring me away. I just also have no job skills that make sense on this planet if I'm not supposed to use magic in a room that has anyone else in it, and that also makes me a much worse investment for Iomedae's budget."

The day wraps up with minor logistical finagling about things like where Blai is going to spend the night, getting him dinner to replace the Chipotle that he threw up now that there is no more likely nausea impending, and making sure it is legal for him to swap out his spells when he wakes up in that location come dawn. He prays; his spell preparation works normally but obviously Iomedae doesn't communicate anything else. The following morning he mostly spends playing chess with the computer; his ELO as estimated by chess.com climbs by a few hundred points as he gets more concentrated practice than he has ever managed to squeeze in before.

At noon he is supposed to meet with the friendly Yithian and answer five hours of questions about himself and Golarion.

At noon a friendly Yithian appears at the place he is staying! (The friendly Yithian was not in fact told where he was staying but "being told about interview subjects' locations" is for people who aren't Yithian.)

"Hello. Where do you want to start?"

"Can you walk me through your life story?"

Ohhhh right why did he think this might not suck. "How much depth of context are you going to need on things like locations, gods, the concept of military service..."

"96.2% of all catalogued cultures have an equivalent of war or military service!"

"...so, perhaps not very much?"

"Suffice it to say that I know about Desna and Asmodeus and Iomedae and Cayden, and if I have a question I'll ask it."

"Okay. I was born in Dekarium, a city on the shore of Lake Sorrow in Cheliax. Which was at the time under the control of Hell. It has public universal education for children, which I attended and did acceptably in. Toward the end of that time I was referred to seminary to become an Asmodean cleric." Iiiiis he gonna react to that at all.

He clarifies what year it was, and then "what approach had they adopted at the time to making high-Wisdom people think it's a good idea to worship Asmodeus?"

"...they were choosing rule-abiding types of people as a proxy for Law, mildly exaggerating the availability of Malediction and the likelihood of even a normally deceased Chelish person going to Hell, and depriving seminary students of water and sleep for extended periods of time."

Scribble scribble scribble. "And how did this happen for you?"

"I am a rule-abiding type of person. I went to seminary as instructed, studied the Disciplines and Infernal and theology and," this is SO EMBARRASSING, "torture and spellcraft, and was periodically deprived of water and sleep until such time as I was Chosen and able to make my own water. I was then an assistant to my seminary mentor at her other responsibilities at church until such time as she needed to produce candidates for military service, and she sent me, and I volunteered to switch assignments with someone who was assigned to the Worldwound and spent the rest of my career there."

"The Worldwound?! AWESOME!!!"

"It's closed now! There's an adventuring party of archmages and they closed it."

"I don't suppose you happen to know how they did it."

"Haven't the faintest."

"Irritating. The research leads always like improving our understanding of interplanar dynamics. --Speaking of interplanar dynamics, I have a number of questions about demons."

Can Blai describe EVERY TYPE OF DEMON HE HAS PERSONALLY ENCOUNTERED?

Yes he can! That's easy!

He follows up with numerous specific questions about demons which this author does not know enough about Pathfinder to generate. They seem to be getting at very specific aspects of demon psychology, sociology, and military tactics.
