Paralictor Rosa is unused to the correct type of politics for a Galtan convention. This does not particularly surprise Knight Vallvé, as few hellknights are, even knights of the chain who have to negotiate with other law enforcement more often.

Vallvé ran the very small chapter house in Egorian. For eight years. He has negotiated with other Hellknights, royal and city guards, personal guards of many nobles, and at times as many as four of those at once. He is not well-liked, because it requires being lawyerly and no one in the Chain likes that, not even him, and he is not considered for promotion, but he is respected; few doubt that he is dedicated to the work, and even fewer out loud.

He is surprised to be ordered south to Westcrown only until he finishes reading the report on the problems that required his selection. He takes his third-in-command and the two best of his clerks, hands off Egorian to his second, and heads south to Westcrown. They can ask for a few more staff to be sent to Egorian from there; it will last a week or two without.
