“You okay?” He says quietly to Nova. 

Nova shrugs. "Fine. You?"

Zev isn’t convinced, but he’s willing to let Nova choose when to talk. If he did...and Zev wasn’t reading into things. 

“I’m sure something.” He gets up from the counter. “Maybe Aaren will put a fuzzy animal video on if we ask,” He smiles. 

"Maybe," Nova agrees with a small smile.

Living room?

Living room. 

Zev keeps their hands tucked together and follows after Steve. 

Ira and Aaren are sat on the floor opposite each other, arguing about the rules of Ludo.

Steve is sat in the far chair, shaking his head fondly.

There are in fact fuzzy animal videos playing on the TV already, and apparently that is a point of contention for Ira. Apparently it is an attempt to distract and therefore cheating.

“She does make a valid point.”

Zev goes to sit on the couch, their ‘usual’ spot. 

"You say that like she isn't palming the dice and switching them with a loaded set."

“That’s just thinking ahead,” Zev laughs. 

"I like you," Ira declares.

Aaren pouts. "You would."

Nova curls against Zev's side, content to let them bicker around him.

Zev laughs. "I'm very happy to be liked!"

"I also think that's the quickest anyone has got Ira to declare that. She doesn't say that very often at all."

"It has always been a tactic of mine to find the most powerful person in the room and not get on their bad side."

That gets a smirk off Ira.

"Don't start getting ideas, young lady."

"Don't need to 'get' any ideas."

"Yep, not pushing my luck with that one."

He does smile approvingly at Ira.

She grins back, and the expression is somehow weird, like her lips can't quite make the right shape.

"You guys want in on the Ludo game?"

"How do you play?" Zev asks, looking at the game suspiciously.
