Alicia and Tom meet again

After arranging a room for Victoria at the temple of Shelyn, Alicia returns to the Cafe Isarn. It's not that she has high hopes for the state of her belongings, but some of her things consisted of art that was of sentimental value instead of monetary, and there's a chance the guards would have left it. She also owes Raimon her thanks, not that it would be good for either of them if she said it aloud.

When she heads in through the front door, it's not in any sort of disguise, which is hopefully enough of a sign that she's not currently on the run but probably being watched that Raimon doesn't imply anything incriminating.

Raimon will smile at her as she comes in! "Welcome back, Citizen Rivera."

She smiles back, tiredly but not ungratefully.

"Thank you. Dare I ask how your day has been?"

"Oh, well enough. The Moderate had a few nice words for me, I'm pleased to say. Better than yours?"

"I had the opportunity to avail myself of the queen's new transportation services. The speed was excellent, but the accommodations left something to be desired."

The levity in her voice dies a little once she finishes.

"Frankly I was mostly surprised that they released me afterwards."

"Well, what can you say? We've had the revolution and it's a bright new day, and all the evils of the old regime are over." There's no sarcasm in his tone. "What can I get for you?"

"Something light to eat, I haven't had anything since yesterday. I don't suppose any of my things survived?"

"If it was out, it's broken," he says. He'll feed her. "They missed some of the smaller instruments, though -"

She takes the food gratefully.

"This is what mending is for, I suppose."

There's a sense in which she really ought to be appreciative. Forget recovering afterwards, if the asmodeans had caught her making a speech telling evil nobles they should repent she'd be lucky if her parents escaped a malediction. Somehow that doesn't really make her feel any better.

"Lucky for you it's singable," Raimon agrees.

It really is one of the most handy cantrips she has, after prestidigitation.

Once she finishes eating and finding everything that can be salvaged, she returns to talk to Raimon.

"Do you need me to move out? They've released me, for now, but I'm hardly confident they won't be back a week later."

"- Of course not! We don't let the bastards win, Alicia. Why'd we do a thing like that?"

"I was at the coast, negotiating passage on a boat, and it happened fast enough I didn't even see them do it. It wouldn't be very kind not to give you a chance."

Their interrogators seemed a lot more amateurish, but for all she knows they had a real interrogation before that which she doesn't even remember, or they're still following her invisibly and mind reading her. She's certainly not going to gamble on a repeat being this simple.

"I appreciate the kindness, but there's no reason to worry about me. I can take care of myself."

She smiles at him, gratefully. It's not just for that, but hopefully he knows as well as she does why it would be stupid to ever thank him for what he did when they came for her out loud.

"Then unless you've been quick about finding a replacement, I'll be happy to start singing for you again tomorrow."

She's not certain what her mood will be like, after the trial, but - that's all the more reason to have a commitment to be singing somewhere instead of doing something ill advised.

"Glad to hear it. - Oh, if a bunch of thugs come in and start breaking things, don't start a fight until I do unless you've really got to. Best if they start it."

"Got it. I'll keep everything that's left that I don't want to lose out of the way."

He nods. "Glad to have you back."
