"They're secret operations people, they wanna talk but after they've patted you down."

"Well, maybe I should have brought you after all, but I don't usually like strangers to handle me and it turned out I could find Carol without talking to them so I didn't go back for help."

"Well, it doesn't matter, none of this is for real anyway."

"If they'd like to talk to me now I'm amenable. Although not the pat-down. What's that even for, my weapon isn't even weapon-shaped when I'm not using it."

He does not think of himself as a person who is exceptionally willing to play the game when stupid authority figures are clumsily trying to fit rules that aren't very suitable to situations that aren't very precedented.

But everyone else is apparently vastly less willing to do this than him and so when they needed to coordinate they were halfway across the world -

"Whoever designed the rules is probably dead. You can ask 'em when they're back, I guess. Let's just go to Wakanda."

Bad news, they're pretty freaked out about bringing you in on this and think that you leaving this and neighboring dimensions afterwards sounds like a great idea. Even worse news, we're gonna have to argue it with them all over again once the world's all saved."

"It's, uh, it's Captain Marvel," says Carol. "I... going to a different universe sounds better."

"Yeah, there are all these other Earths. ...do we even win World War II in all the other Earths, Loki, my dad liked to fancy he was pretty decisive and Cap was too -"

"It's customary for the Allies to win World War II, although Hazel hasn't had a World War II and never will."

"Cool. So, pick an Earth, it'll be just like home."

"The one with vampires is nice! An alt of me rules the vampire shadow government."

"I'll... have to think about it," says Carol.

"Do the vampires eat people."

"No, my alt banned eating people."

Snort. "All right, then."

"Do we have to wait for Lemistra or can we do it sooner."

"It's not Lemistra because of anything in particular about the planet, it's Lemistra because that's how long the wiz thought it'd take us to free Cap 2: the Cappening. I don't know how we'll find somewhere suitable sooner, though."

"Planets where people are starving? That's going to be most of them."

"I dunno, people can hold out on just the contents of grocery stores for quite a while. And the 'probably going extinct as a species' might be an important ingredient."

"I can pop around invisibly to the other seven Realms insofar as the places match, see how they're holding up."

"Worth a look, yeah."

She turns invisible and disappears to look in on Jotunheim, Vanaheim, Niflheim, Alfheim, Svartalfheim, Muspelheim, and Helheim.

Vanaheim: having a pretty bad day! As in catastrophic societal collapse! 

Poor Frigg's people. Catastrophic enough that the planet's likely to be dead in the next couple days?
