She looks skeptical and doesn't offer her arm, but does relax a little. "Okay."

"Kobold want me do anything?" 

Headshake. "What we do next?"

"Now we choose what to do with murderer." 

He sits on the couch, scratching the armrest methodically. No claws, though. It seems to relax him. 

She observes this and nods, solemnly.

"Murderer is dangerous, is scary. What kobold say we do?"

"I kill her."

"Okay."

Sigh. "Magic can kill. I want more know person is murderer."

"What kobold need know to be sure she is murderer?" 

"She smell murderer? She not look murderer, she maybe magic-sense murderer."

"No smell murderer," he says, his voice taking on a growling undertone. It's somewhat disconcerting. 

"Murderer use magic, she smell magic. No understand before, here is much magic. If she magic and no say, but she understand I werewolf, then she lies about magic. She hides magic. Murderer hides magic. Why hide?" 

While he's talking, she goes to sit with him, settling next to him and leaning comfortingly onto him. "Scott say I hide, I not know why. Maybe scared? Maybe new magic? Maybe murderer, I not know, I not want kill if not murderer."

"We can learn more if murderer. Is here magic for learn and see before. 

"Good. Do."

"I no use magic. We go speak to magic person?" 

"Okay."

To the car they go.

And here's the expert. 

He opens the door slightly.

"Derek, this is a bit of surprise. Hello kobold."

"Can we come in?"

"Of course, come in." 

He steps aside. 

"Hello." In she goes.

"So have you been?"

"We're not here for small talk. We need a way to be sure who the murderer is."
