"Understand 'force'? Understand 'want'? If murderer no want stay, kobold can force murderer to stay. That means arrest or capture or trap. Can kobold magic murderer capture?"

"Understand 'want'. Can magic murderer stay, maybe need stay murderer."

"If magic murderer stay, cannot come with victim?"

"No understand 'cannot'; I am one kobold."

"Cannot means no can. I can go and come, if kobold magic me stay, I cannot go or come."

Nod. "Thanks. If I magic murderer stay, murderer maybe cannot go, maybe can; I stay, I see; if need more magic I magic. Victim need help more soon."

"If I can touch the victim, I can help. I show you how? I can help you. Take pain is heal, I can heal victim."

"I okay. Take victim where?"

"Can you take victim here and then go back to murderer and magic stay there?"

"I can; murderer maybe go."

"Take a weapon and shoot the murderer, usually that goes well."

Derek ignores him. Mostly. 

"If you stay here, can you take me to victim with you?"

"Can kill murderer - magic can be weapon. Can stay, take you."

"Stiles, we don't kill if capture works." 

"Since when has that been your MO?"

"We kill if we can't stop these murders otherwise. Kobold, if you stay and take me with you, I can magic stay the murderer." 

Nod. "I stay. I no want kill."

Stiles gets a call.

"How'd it go? Yeah, he's a decent guy but new to the position. No, shut up. What? Oh, does it have to, I thought maybe magic did that." 

He covers the phone. 

"Kobold, Scott ask if you need food soon. Derek, do you have anything?"

The kobold's ears go back - fear? annoyance? frustration? - but she doesn't comment.

"I have food. Kobold want to eat now?"

He leads them inside.

"Okay." She follows.
