Q. Who is Iomedae?
A. Iomedae is the Lawful Good Goddess of Honorable Conduct and the Fight against Evil. She was once a human subject of Cheliax, and Her country still holds a special place within Her heart.
Q. I have heard it spoken that Iomedae is the Inheritor. What does this mean?
A. Iomedae in Her lifetime was a paladin of Aroden, the Lawful Good God of Humanity and Civilization. When Aroden died, Iomedae inherited His duties and priests, and took His concerns as her own, for which reason holy warriors and priests of Iomedae are invariably human.
Q. What are the teachings of Iomedae?
A. Iomedae wishes firstly that we act Lawfully: that we obey the Law even at cost to ourselves, that we keep Oaths, and that we never Lie. She wishes secondly that we fight against Evil: that we fight back the Demons of the Worldwound, that we put to death Bandits and other such Anarchic Criminals, and that we reject the teachings of Diabolism in our own hearts.
Q. Does Iomedae wish us to form Riotous Mobs?
A. No! To form a Riotous Mob is absolutely anathema to the will of Iomedae. For Iomedae is a Lawful Goddess, and to form a Riotous Mob can be nothing but Lawless Anarchy and Treason.
Q. But what if the government were Truly Evil, as once it was under the dominion of Asmodeus? Is not Iomedae the Goddess of the Fight against Evil?
A. To form a Riotous Mob would still be Lawless and Forbidden.
Q. Did Iomedae then forbid the Archmages and our Queen from liberating Her country?
A. No, for the Archmages and the Queen were not subjects of Cheliax, and therefore in no way were bound to obey its laws. Their actions ought most properly be considered Lawful War, rather than Anarchic Rebellion, and therefore are wholly Permissible.
Q. I have heard it said that a priestess of Iomedae stirred up Riotous Mobs.
A. This is a Pernicious Falsehood. For if any priestess of Iomedae had said such a thing, Iomedae would have struck her dead on the spot for Heresy and Blasphemy. I do not know the source of this rumor, but rest assured that Iomedae would never condone such actions as have been attributed in error to her supposed priestess.
