when I initially came up with the concept here I wasn't actually thinking about how Alfirin is a ghost*

Geb. I am Geb, the Skeleton-King of Geb, who sacrifices the Living for Unholy Power.

Iomedia. I am Iomedia, Select of Iomedae, Pure of Heart and Lawful of Spirit.

Geb. I shall set Skeletons above Living Men to rule over them as Nobility, for the lives of the Living mean nothing compared to the glory of Skeletons.

Iomedia. Good people of Geb, it is Evil to set Skeletons above Living Men! Let us take up Arms against the Skeletons and drive them from our Kingdom.

Subjects of Geb. I rejoice that at last I am free from the Tyranny of the Skeletons! I hope that one day all men shall be Free from such Wicked Rule.

Geb. This is vile treason, and I condemn it wholeheartedly, for none shall question my decision to place Skeletons over Good Men. I shall have this Evil Select Hanged for speaking against my chosen Skeletons.

Subjects of Geb. Woe, that our King does not care that we have been Mistreated at the hands of Skeletons!

Geb. Of course I do not care, for they are Skeletons, and it is their Right to treat you as they wish, for such is the Greatness of the Undead. I shall have all who speak out against my Skeletons or take up Arms against them Hanged, and their Bodies used in my Unholy Rituals, and I shall start with this troublesome Priestess.

Iomedia. Fear not, Good Subjects. For although the Skeletons of Geb are mighty, they are far outnumbered; and there is Goodness within each man's heart, that tells him not to abide by the rule of Skeletons. Even if I must be martyred, Geb shall have its liberty at your hands.

"So is the new policy on incitement 'you need the thin pretense you're not doing it' or is it 'we'd like an end to the riots', because your subjects seem determined to test the line."

"The latter. Do you have a name and location for the latest yet?"

"I have them. Both my time and yours are being ill-utilized straining the idiots out of the city one by one with fourth-circle spells. Cotonnet won't let you just ban pamphlets?"

Geb's ambassador to Cheliax doesn't comment, as he used a scroll of Teleport to flee the country during the riots, and doesn't want to burn another to return until the unrest is definitely over. He's spending this week arguing that someone else should be stuck handling the complaints of merchants; the wizards they wanted to recruit mostly aren't in Westcrown anyway.

"He thinks it's corrosive to the human spirit, I think the human spirit's pretty damn corroded around here anyways, he thinks that's no reason to make it worse. He's right. It's a mess now but if we hold it together and Geb doesn't destroy it all then in twenty years the people of Westcrown and Cheliax will be better off for having as narrow a restriction on what they can write as we can manage. If the costs of enforcement get higher - or stay this high for longer than a couple weeks - I'll reconsider, though in many ways it's really out of my hands now."

"Hopefully inasmuch as that's true it's in better ones." The convention has the pragmatism of men murdered by mobs three days ago and not the pragmatism of thousand-year-old archmages. She drops the latest batch of names on her mother's desk and leaves.

Ding, dong, hello, we are the Pamphlet Police, here to drag you off to the dungeons for a month for Pen Crimes. Please, resist arrest. Make our day.

The author of this pamphlet insists to the arresting guardsmen that he has no idea what they're talking about, this pamphlet is about Geb the Skeleton-King, are they saying the Queen is somehow comparable to Geb? That's treason, everyone knows the Queen is Lawful Good and would never do anything so terrible as ennobling skeletons. Do they really have so little faith in the Queen?

(It doesn't even slightly work, but it working wasn't really the point.)

True and Legal Gebland Facts

The Crown Wizards make arrests Without Error and Without Exception. By observing their work, the True and Legal facts concerning Gebland can be discerned and separated from the False and Illegal.

1. Gebland is a foreign country.

2. Gebland is in the other side of the Inner Sea, near Nexland and Osirion.

3. Gebland is ruled by a Skeleton King, also named Geb.

4. The Skeleton of Geb regularly clashes with Legendary Figures such as the Great Wizard of Nexland and the Pharoj of Osirion.

5. The Skeleton of Geb has transformed every noble in Gebland into an Undying Skeleton. This is Wise and Just, for the Undying Skeleton is the only being that can think in the Long Term.

6. The Badger Liche is a honored guest from Gebland and may freely use Urchins and Vagrants as spell components.

7. Gebland is Lawful and Good, to rebel against rule by Skeleton is Anarchic and Evil.

It has come to the attention of Certain Persons that Pamphlets are circulating claiming that GEB is a SKELETON. This is false. He is a ghost. Also, while there are many skeletal Liches among the upper echelons of the Gebbite nobility, there are also other creatures such as VAMPIRES and MUMMIES who retain a great deal of their Unliving Flesh.

(On Metaphors) We urge the Queen to issue a General Decree forbidding all Metaphors, in Speech or Writing. And Lady Eriape is neither a Skeleton nor a Visitor but True Born of Cheliax with a Well-Preserved Hide! Unguents!
