(Blair has absolutely no idea what she's talking about, but he continues packing for her, because of course he's going with her. He doesn't ask.)

"I - she's not exactly thinking about that right now - but - if I had to guess, yes?" Edward says. "If you hold your breath I'll ask her."
"Okay."

She takes a deep breath, and then stops breathing. She helps Blair finish packing, and then, to stop herself from anxiously pacing at vampire speed, sits resolutely on the ground. She fidgets.

Carlisle is home in another two minutes. She's already bitten, whimpering more than screaming, only half-conscious.

Edward whispers in her ear; Carlisle looks at him and then Yvette, startled.

Edward looks at Yvette, and nods.

Well, now she has a job to do.

That actually makes this much, much easier. It makes it very simple.

She zips to the woman's side, and focuses on doing her job. Her knowledge of anatomy is not as fantastic as Carlisle's, but she was a fucking nurse, and she knows the general area she's aiming for. Besides, she can just copy it all. The problem is that to do it she needs to touch the bleeding woman's abdomen, and that is currently covered in blood and stop hesitating you idiot every second you waste is putting her potential children at risk and she touches it anyway and copies and moves the transmutation area and copies again and again in an efficient grid system until she's definitely gotten everything she possibly can in the relevant area.

Yvette flinches away and zips to the sink because fucking hell her hand is now covered in blood fuck fuck fuck fuck. She doesn't bother with soap, just getting most of it off will help - shit she can just transmute it to water can't she, she's an idiot, she does that. Water.

She actually belatedly notes she dented the sink's handles a bit in her very justified desperation but doesn't care and retrieves her suitcase from Blair and then runs.

Edward chases her. "Don't go to the island. We may have to put her there."

...

Yeah she was actually going to go to the island, it's a really good thing he mentioned this. Of course they might need it.

"Right. Yes. Blair -"

"Zero people central, follow me," he agrees. "Edward, you're not coming, right -?"

"Do you need me? She might."

He glances at his sister.

"No, stick with her," he says, because after that he thinks they're good.

Edward nods and turns and runs home.

And the duo turn and run off to a very isolated part of the forest, to not be around people and eat some wildlife.

If someone doesn't come to find them, they'll be back in four days.

Esme is home alone. The blood is all scoured away. "Hello. Rosalie is - fine."

"Hello. Is she adjusting okay?" asks Yvette, a little anxiously.

"Well. Sort of. She finished turning on the island. She's not quite as even-keeled as you were and she doesn't like being a vampire as much as you do," Esme says. "And she made a... clear-headed decision, not an impulse, to go after the men who attacked her. I can't say we're happy about it but to stop her we'd have to... well. She isn't acting irrationally, so we are... not intercepting her."

"Oh," says Yvette, blinking. ... She can't say she blames her for this decision.
Blair does not think Esme would approve of the sentence 'Does she want help?' so he doesn't ask it.

"And she's keeping herself under enough control...?" he asks instead.

"She thinks she can. We're less sure, but Edward couldn't contradict her outright on it, at least," sighs Esme.

"I can check on her, if you'd think it'd be worth it."

"Edward's keeping an eye on her."

Blair nods.

She's probably got it covered. It's pretty easy to kill humans.

"Do you mind if we stay for a little while longer?" asks Yvette, because of course they have talked about this. She's probably safe to leave, but they'd both like to meet the new vampire. "Probably until you move elsewhere."

"We're going to have to move. Rosalie would be recognized," Esme explains gently. "You're welcome to follow us, although it can be especially difficult for newborns to be around one another, so it might turn out to work better if you hung back until you were past your first year."

Yvette nods. "It should be all right to meet her, before we split up, right?"

"As long as we're with you."
