A minute or so later, he hears footsteps and the Master says, "Huh."

He sits down next to Titus with his own glass of tequila and a bowl of very cheesy nachos. 

Titus drinks straight from the bottle.

"Your TARDIS is really fucking great."

"She is, isn't she?"

"Did she bring you to me?"

"What, did you think I walked?"

He shakes his bottle at him.

"You know what I meant. Stormcage is very off the grid."

"No, sorry. I wanted a look at the big bad criminals and she obliged."

"And you decided to take one out on a field trip?"

"I didn't have anything better to do."

"You're going to have to take me back eventually. Or kill me."

"Why? There are a literally uncountable number of places nicer than that jail cell."

"Unless you have a way to stop me from killing the Doctor, Stormcage is my best bet."

"You hate him that much?"

"It's a compulsion, I can't control myself. Mother made sure of that."

"And who is this adoptive mother of yours?"

"The Great Madame Kovarian." He winces and takes a long drink of the tequila. "Mummy Dearest."

"Never heard of her."

"Have you heard of the Church of Silence from the 52nd century?"

"Nope."

"Well. They exist as a response to a prophecy about the Doctor. How he will bring back the Time Lords and restart the Great Time War. My mother formed her own chapter. Mission statement: kill the Doctor before he arrives at Trenzalore."

"Not doing a very good job of it, is she?"

"The Doctor is a hard person to kill. But that's why she has me. What better way to kill a Time Lord than to use another Time Lord?" He pauses. "If that's what I am."

"You're not," he says cheerfully.

"You're close, but you're not."

Titus shrugs and takes another swig.

"Figured. Never even met any other Time Lords. My mum is like me, though maybe less so. She had human parents."

"Why do they think they need a Time Lord to kill a Time Lord?"
