Lluïsa spots a dwarven delegate between committees! This will really help with completing the table.

"Honored Fellow Delegate, may I trouble you for several Moments of your time, to discuss a Matter pertaining to the Interests of the Dwarven Species?"

Oh, right, she probably should be representing the Dwarven Species here, not just looking out for her own debts and vengeances.

“Of course, Delegate. My name is Kinelynn, what can I do for you?”

Shuffling some papers around...

"Prompted by a Remark on the General Floor earlier, I have noted the Fact that for the various Species whose Members may be Encountered within this Empire, there are many Terms in use, of which some are Benign Appellations employed in a Friendly or Neutral context, while others are Hostile and meant to give Offense or to indicate Contempt for such a species."

She has a table (with "Itarii" now added to the acceptable words for strix!).

"Lamenting my Ignorance on Dwarven Matters, I wish to Rectify that same ignorance by collecting those Terms a typical Dwarf would tend to consider either Permissible or Impermissible, and have sought out Dwarven Counsel for this purpose."

"And why should I tell you how to insult me? Dwarf is a good enough term for humans to use; I don't see why you need anything else. Udkhab is the word in Dwarven, if you want to add that."

That goes on the list, under 'permissible'!

"In order that this Body might Censure the use of such terms of Opprobrium, and prevent such Disputes over Terms as occurred this Morning, or worse the Enshrinement of Impermissible Terms into drafted Language of the Constitution, for example if a Clause refer to 'relations with those Stone-Heads dwelling under the Mountains' and such Relations be prematurely Poisoned by the use of an Insulting Name."

“The Clan-Kings of the Mountains aren’t foolish enough to be insulted by anything a human says, nor would an insult be anywhere near relevant given the last century of Chelish behavior. You’ll be long dead before your country’s reputation recovers, unless you’re a much better wizard than you look.”

“…Avoid any negative term about height. Dwarf is fine, nothing else.” She’ll avoid bringing up specific terms, that strikes a good balance between telling the humans how to insult her kind and helping them avoid doing so. “Don’t use any term from an Orc, their names for us range from dismissive to insulting without exception.” And if you use an Orcish word Dwarves will assume you’re on their side, which is worse than using an insult, but that’s the kind of thing humans sometimes fail to understand even when someone tries to explain it to them.
