Heart heavy, Rouen Stought will approach the podium. After the chaos earlier, she doesn't want to do this, but it's her job.

"Greetings, delegates," she says flatly. "I am Lictor Rouen Stought, head of the Order of the Pyre." She'll wait for the hissing to die down.

"My duty as such was the elimination of illegal cults. If you wish to remove the Order of the Pyre from this duty, that is your right as the Queen's delegated representatives. Nonetheless, the work will need to be done.

"There are, averaging across the last fifteen years, twenty-three demon cults a year, six daemon cults, fifteen cults of Zon-Kuthon, eight cults of Norgorber, and eleven cults of Urgathoa exposed and destroyed across Cheliax each year, counting only the most major and most unambiguously evil gods and forces. I propose either that the committee on diabolism be expanded to cover the work of renewing or establishing a legal system for eliminating these nondiabolist cults of forbidden gods and would-be-gods, or that a second committee be established for that purpose."

And then she will go back to her seat.

She wants to support the Hellknight, but she has enough political sense to know supporting the Hellknight is a questionable idea... especially after she bad mouthed the Hellknight to Alicia last night.  Maybe once she's sure the excising diabolism committee is on the right track (away from Theopho for one) she can convince them to also deal with other cults.  So she stays silent for now.

She’s suspicious about this because it came from the hellknight but she did in fact say that was what they should do when it came up on virtuous churches. And while she’s sure Lady Shelyn will redeem her brother some day, it’s also obvious he’s really bad news right now.

…definitely against it being a new committee, though, in case the hellknight thinks that’s how they’ll be able to ban all the empyreal lords they don’t like.

“While I don’t think it’s as urgent as dealing with the powers of Hell, I don’t think I’m alone in agreeing that the likes of Norgorber and Zon Kuthon should be forbidden, and that particular watch be kept for the latter near Nidal. I favor amending the committee on Diabolism.”
