He nods - wondering, briefly, if it was Daisy's in the sense that that was Daisy's job. But... no-one spoke like that. No-one said something belonged to a droid or slave. "Good," he says.

"Yeah," she grins, and starts back in on the sign language, beginning with the plants in the garden and the tools she uses to care for them.

He continues to be a focused student! And genuinely seems to enjoy learning the different signs. He doesn't even seem to notice he's smiling as he gets his fingers to copy the signs he's shown.

Daisy doesn't interrupt to point it out, but continues on into animals and barnyard items, then household objects, explaining the language's slightly simplified grammar as she goes.

Pradnakt returns after a bit more than an hour, floating the folded-up cot in front of her and carrying the box of cookies.

He continues to be attentive, managing to even venture a question or two when he's confused.

He glances to Pradnakt as she approaches.

She nods a greeting and floats the cot over to the back of the ledge, then sends the box floating to land neatly next to him. "All set," she tells Daisy. "I'm going to go practice my forms; I'll be right over the ridge." She nods at the pillar behind them, indicating she'll be in that direction. "Do you need anything before I get started?"

"I don't think so. Nova?"

He shakes his head, not entirely sure what else to do there.

"All right. I'll come back through when I'm done."

Daisy nods, "we'll be here," and off Pradnakt goes.

"Do you want to take a break and set up the cot? I'm sure it'll be more comfortable."

Nova shrugs. "I- I'm fine wherever? But- I don't- whatever you think best?"

Daisy tilts her head consideringly. "Pradnakt thinks you're going to want to stay out here tonight, and if you want to, you can - she wouldn't've brought the cot if it wasn't okay. She might be wrong about whether you'll want to, though - she can tell what you feel, but that's not the only thing that matters, for something like that. But if you are going to want to stay, we might as well set it up now, before you're too tired."

"O-okay," he agrees. (He's got no idea how he's supposed to take that, it seems to be a choice, but he's still not entirely used to being given those.)

"All right."

She shows him how to set it up; one person could do it by themselves, but it's quicker with two, working simultaneously to undo the latches on each side and re-do the ones that keep it stable once it's unfolded.

He's a quick study with this, and does his best to help out.

It's ready in short order, and Daisy fluffs the pillow, tucks the change of clothes that was bundled in next to it underneath, and spreads the blanket over the whole thing with a practiced flick. "There we go."

He looks a little blank, like he isn't entirely sure what to do now.

"Are you all right?"

"...Yes?" he doesn't sound certain.

"Is Pradnakt bothering you?" She sounds concerned. "I can go ask her to stop."

His head jerks up. "I- what- no?" He's fairly certain on that, but- "...Why would you-?" He flinches at asking the question. "I- never mind."

"Okay," she soothes. "It's - it wouldn't be surprising if you had some kind of sensory ability, and we'd want to be polite about it. But it's fine. Come sit?"

The instruction makes it easier - helps to know what's expected - but he's still a little cautious as he edges over to sit on the edge of the cot.

She's a little cautious herself as she picks the sign lessons up again, watching him carefully, but soon enough she relaxes.

He relaxes some as well as the lessons resume, as much as he is able.

They have a few hours to themselves before Pradnakt comes back, and by the time she does, they've gone over enough vocabulary to hold simple conversations.

She comes around the pillar, audible before she steps into the circle lit by the flame on his hands, and takes a cookie from the box while she waits for Daisy to finish demonstrating the latest sign.
