Today, Beacon Hills High School prepares to welcome a new student! Several new students, in fact; a whole class of them. As summer gives way to fall, so too does freedom give way to restriction. Get in your seats, everyone.
He's close enough that she could reach up and kiss him while he's laughing.
Kissing! It's a thing he can do, apparently!
He can't actually do it very long without pulling back, gasping: "I should probably be on my feet if we're doing this."
"Hmm. How about-" she climbs up the tree beside him, making it look easy, "this? Does this work?"
So many kisses. Juliet has never done this before, but this does not deter her. Eventually she pulls herself closer to him, takes her hands off the branch and places them lightly on his shoulder and nape.
Okay?
His ability to balance on this tree is being severely taxed, but he can't bring himself to complain.
Thankfully Juliet has very good balance, so she will try her best to compensate for this!
...if she doesn't get too distracted.
He is thoroughly distracted.
Distracted enough that his camera slips down along his neck, constricting-
Juliet pulls back immediately, "What-?"
She attempts to take the pressure off his neck, lifting the camera.
His breathing comes just as raggedly.
The twitching and struggling against an invisible adversary don't seem to be intentional.
He isn't.
He's coming back to himself now.
He slowly begins to right himself, unsteadily climbing back down.
Juliet starts crying softly. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry."
She jumps down from the tree after him, wanting to touch him, but afraid of hurting him again.
"Are you- are you okay?"
"'s not your fault."
He swallows.
"Camera's not broken. That's something."
Juliet nods and forces herself to stop crying. She is not helping.
She takes a deep breath and then reaches out to take his hand.
"Do you wanna sit?"
"It's not your fault," he repeats shakily.
"Sometimes this happens. To me."
She sits herself and lightly tries to pull him down.
"Okay. We all have something."
