Sapphire gripped her notebook tightly. She had intended to write down what was said while Daisy Decker was speaking but that feel the wayside as the sheer weight of what was being said crashed down on her.

The speech was over though. She took a few deep breaths and tried to ignore the explosion of voices. Daisy all but said she was giving them clues. She bent down to grab the pen she had dropped and picked it back up.

Even subtle bits of the wording might be important. She called on the techniques she had been taught in class for remembering what had been said and did her best to write it all down.

What else? Were there other things she should be recording? She took some notes about the crowd's reaction. Then some notes about her own reaction.

She was feeling helpless, she was worried about Tom's reaction when he found out, she was terrified of never getting out; all that was true but having it written out helped her find a small measure of detachment. It was a little like therapy that way.
