"...'m definitely fine with your bed."

"Good."

Past the barn to the clearing in front of the house, and she stops the speeder and scoops him up to head inside.

He is happy to be scooped, and even happier to approach a bed.

The workroom is dim and empty; the bedroom, too, but a sliver of golden light is visible at the top of the door to Daisy's room.

Dusk flicks down the comforter and arranges the pillows into a cozy nest, and then deposits him in it, curling up behind him with an arm slung over his side as she brings the comforter back up.

Cozy. So cozy. He sighs in contentment.

"Thought you didn't sleep at night?"

"Yeah. Goona hang out for a while, though." Squeeze.

"Mm. 'S good."

He shuts his eyes and puts his arm over one of the pillows.

He's asleep very quickly.

She's cuddled up behind him when he wakes up; the only sign that she left at all is the soft fabric of her nightgown at his back.

He lets himself drift in and out of sleep for a while, to give her a little more time.

Then he just lies awake and enjoys the feeling of someone asleep behind him.

It only lasts for a minute, and then she yawns and gives him a squeeze and stretches, pressing against him as she does.

"...You weren't kidding, huh?"

"Was not, yeah." She ruffles his hair. "You too blistered to move, or y'wanna go get breakfast?"

He makes an attempt at moving.

...actually, ow, never mind?

"I...think I should probably fix some of these first. I guess."

"All right." She snuggles up again. "Can you do just some? It didn't look like you were steering it that much, last time."

"...probably not. I can't focus it on different, uh, pains yet."

"Yeah. Hm."

"Can you see how you'd do this?" She sends the Force swirling around them, peeling it apart into separate, dissonant, almost antagonistic streams; it's unlike anything he's ever seen a Jedi do, or even anything he ever heard them describe.

No mental processing now. Just watching.

She keeps it up. The longer she does, the clearer it is that it's something she's doing; that she's guiding the Force, rather than letting it guide her, as a Jedi would.

After ten minutes or so, she lets go of it, letting the threads settle back into - almost - their natural patterns; there's still a noticeable disturbance, where they're unable to return to their previous state, like a wrinkle in a piece of cloth or a kink in a hose. "Shouldn't do too much of that, it adds up after a while. But do you get the idea?"

"...I didn't know you could break it."

He sounds in awe.

She chuckles. "Mmhmm. It loses some power that way, but if you put your feelings behind it, it more than makes up the difference and you have better control."

He tries to reach out to the warped spot, feel the 'contour' of it.

"They never even told us you could."

"Yeah, well," she shrugs. "Jedi. They're not aiming for effectiveness."

"I get why they wouldn't teach it but you'd think they'd at least show us how to fight it."

"Oh, you generally can't; in a combat situation everything's going too fast for that kind of thing to work."
