There is a certain bookstore just one street out of the way of the path between school and Terence's house. In that bookstore a certain corner has a large pile of unceremoniously stacked books labelled '25¢ each'. Terence is digging through them for science fiction. Most of it is self-improvement books, or recipe guides, or trashy romance novels. The few sci-fi pieces he finds will probably be really crappy science fiction, but he still has to try.
"I'm so flattered. Cerberus, if I write my name on a card can it be undone later? Can Sadde still use it as a loaner?"
"Yes. You can tell the card you wish to forfeit your claim over it and your name will disappear, and he can use even your cards, but they won't be as good for him as they will for you. He must have some natural aptitude, though, to be able to use Change to change that much."
"What happens if someone steals one? Can I summon it back? No offense Sadde, better safe than sorry is all."
"None taken, a healthy dose of paranoia about the incredibly powerful and dangerous magical artefacts can only make me find you hotter."
"If you meditate and reach your cards, you can call them back to you, and they'll return," Cerberus explains.
He glances at Sadde. He doesn't seem to notice that he glanced at more than Sadde's face.
"But that could take a long while if whoever stole it decided to fly to China, right?"
Terry nods confidently and writes his full name on the back of all three cards.
"You want Change much more than I do, and since I have a safety in case you suddenly go bonkers, no harm in letting you use it if you can still get good use out of it when I've claimed it." He hands Change over. "In a week or two or if it isn't strong enough like so I'll probably forfeit my claim so you can use Change more efficiently. Meanwhile, wanna have a vaguely-defined friendship, kiss a lot, and catch more magic cards and learn about them together?"
"Go on, try to change into a girl, see if it's still enough?" Curiosity! And he kiiiind of wants to try out the other flavor of Sadde.
Terry claps politely. "Cool."
...He is not yet self-confident enough to start a kiss while feeling vaguely guilty about asking Sadde to change shape!
Yay, more kisses. Sadde is still just as tasty, though the exact blend of feelings is interestingly different. He explores the differences eagerly.
Ooh, exploration, she likes that! She will let him explore at his leisure, and her hands might wander a bit, in very well-behaved above-the-belt places of course.
Kero's probably hidden again, hasn't he? ...Terry doesn't actually stop to check. His hands wander too. But more hesitantly and to fewer places, what with fewer well-behaved places being available on Sadde.
Sadde is naturally only being well-behaved for his sake. The, shall we say, passion of the kiss might make this obvious.
Nnnnot really that obvious, Terry's mostly still in half-disbelief that kissing is happening at all.
This could go on for a while.
She's not going to try to make it more obvious than that, not knowing how comfortable he is with—several things.
And it could indeed go on for a while.
And Cerberus has decided that patience is the better part of valor and is now meditating and talking in silence to the cards.
It can go on... Until Terry's stomach growls in protest of his mediocre breakfast. Then he pulls away reluctantly. "I should probably eat something. And meditate relatively near Change, and get to know the cards more, and. So many things to do, it's great."
