"No. I'm waffling on whether to have gates at all but I think trains handle cargo and very short trips better so we're going to have those."

"Can the Tesseract do gate-y things? If it has the template to copy? Preferably minus the drawbacks?"

"Loki thinks maybe but if it couldn't the Tesseract would be more annoyed than it currently is and she's avoiding that. Gates do take a long time to decay."

"Can we have the precog tell us the result of tests of Tesseract abilities or is she busy with more important things than that?"

"If it's ever really important we can try it but Loki is vaguely concerned that it might be good enough buddies with the Time Stone to notice and object."

Snort. "Portals were listed as a thing research teams are pretty close on anyway."

Nod. "And like, we can harvest some gates from my homeworld - I'm thinking 'Disappear', what do you think - even if we don't want to make new ones."

"Disappear. Got something for the Arda?"

"They're going with a light-related word theme. The other one with Maitimo being evil is 'Shadow'. And it has to translate reasonably well, so the word for the dark blink when a spell completes isn't quite right."

"Might have been better if they'd found us first, we have - differently broken lines of communication."

"Would have occurred to us to make sure they got tech and healers instead of slowly building up resentment over being denied it."

"It would have been fatal but he was still in fact alive! I think that's a good description!"

"It's an entirely apt description, I'm shaking my head at the situation."

"The degree to which Maitimo was only able to keep you prisoner because you're a much better person than him."

"Also very averse to dying, but that part he knew about."

"I suppose some people might kill someone who did that."

"Yeah."

"Where's the new planet going to be? Interesting neighborhood or stay put?"

"Magery seems to have some neighborhood effect - the empty planet is not conventionally adjacent to our Arda but both are adjacent to Disappear and we can mage directly between them without stopping there - so new planet, same world."

"Going to join Vanda Nossëo, you think?"

"Probably. At that point we're outside the realm of decisions I can just unilaterally make."
