The Valar announce that they've done as much as they can in Singularity (they can't bring back peoples' babies in that critical period either, but they can get them earlier versions) and are setting up portals between there and Sanity as soon as they are confident they've cleaned up the plague. A bunch of Elf architects have this wild idea for a fivedimensional city where alternating intersections are interdimensional portals between various Valinors and they get eagerly to setting it up.
"Okay." Cam conjures. "House didn't work they like architecture too much... buuuut they did a hall of records entry, very ex-human of her. What d'you need?"
"A motive for her wife to have gotten a job as the GCP's forensics demon, coaxed a friend into taking another one, and then colluded to fail to produce evidence of an afterlife. So - notoriety as a human, maybe?"
Conjure conjure. "Uh, drowned her toddler and killed herself in jail."
"I'm going to write them and offer to shelter them from the GCP."
"Because you want them to have to get different and perhaps more reliable forensics demons?"
"Except for the toddler, who grew up in Limbo. Maybe he was one of the ones my mom raised."
"I tentatively expect that child had a better childhood than they would have with mom who drowned them. Could've gotten unlucky, but."
"Parentally sure, I just think it would've been better if she left him at a safe surrender site and he had like, books and routine access to food and opportunities to look at plants sometimes? Limbo is drab in a way that I suspect is really bad for kids moreso than adults."
"...safe surrender sites are a good idea. Should suggest that the dots be that, in Godspring, only people'll drop off wanted kids..."
Nod.
He writes Colleen and Kayanda and says that he heard they were worried about Ganymede and he had a workaround, they could be summoned to just outside a portal and then open the portal and go right back into Hell and by virtue of being technically on a summons can't get circled no matter what, which might be important because Ganymede just found out about ex-summoners daevafying.
Colleen writes back and asks how Kayanda's supposed to tell their circle from her usual.
Kayanda works a thirteen hour shift and then shortly afterwards writes in: I'll go first and if you're not legit you're never getting Colleen.
Okay.
"Cam, can I have a stay-in-Hell for the two of them -"
