The Valar announce that they've done as much as they can in Singularity (they can't bring back peoples' babies in that critical period either, but they can get them earlier versions) and are setting up portals between there and Sanity as soon as they are confident they've cleaned up the plague. A bunch of Elf architects have this wild idea for a fivedimensional city where alternating intersections are interdimensional portals between various Valinors and they get eagerly to setting it up.
" - okay. Uh, would you be willing to tell me if that happens, so we can try it? Why does it mean they might as well die, if they're not the same..."
"Are you going to just follow me around, to be told when someone has a blinding accident, it's not like that happens every year."
"I can give you pieces of parchment that are special so when you draw on them I see it, and we could agree on a drawing that means I should come for some reason."
She takes them and looks at the writing and folds them up and tucks them into a pouch.
"And maybe people should try summoning just in case it turns out when you look at their eyes it's the same person."
"What counts as death, what if someone gets frozen when they're irreparably injured so they can be thawed once help comes, what if their heart stops but we get it started again..."
"Starting peoples' hearts again is totally routine medical practice in places with more technology."
"And if you told them, they would say 'uh, no, he's right there', and they would be right and you would be - just using words in a way that doesn't mean anything."
"People on Revelation have tried explaining stupid metaphysical beliefs to me and I totally yell at them for it. Constantly. I got a vlog so I could yell at them even more."
"Revelation's a different world and a 'vlog' is a way of making recordings of yourself so people who are far away can watch them, and doing that regularly so they can follow what you're up to. The stupid metaphysical belief they have is that they have souls. They don't."
