Yep. That's the plan. Just keep spending time on making each other happy for as long as they like. Forever? No, do not try to make lifetime commitments to a girl you've known for two days. No matter how tempting it is. Do not.

She squeezes Hyacinth close and just keeps smiiiiiling happily.

Hyacinth presses in close, and nuzzles gently.

"... do you mind if I theorycraft while we snuggle?"

She kisses Sin's forehead. "Not at all. Mind if we get everyone's shapes loaded into the shapeshifting for eventual future introduction sessions?"

"Not at all, go right ahead."

Sable smiles warmly and pets Sin slowly and tenderly while gradually flicking through the shapeshifting setup interface, carefully locking in a shape for each headmate now that they have enough spare ability points to buy more slots. There are still a few alternate shapes people will want, her and Maya especially, but those can come later.

And Hyacinth loses herself in game statistics for a while. It's soothing. Gentle. Statistics don't change on you, not like people do. Not without a patch, anyway.

It's been a while since Tami smashed her face through an exploitable trick in the engine, so there are no patches right now.

And eventually the shapes are done and Sable just focuses on petting Sin tenderly. She presses a soft kiss atop her head, right between her floofy ears.

The statistics and the hairpetting all dance together, and Sin finds herself dropping off. It's hard to stay focused when she's this happy

Sable's not particularly sleepy, it being early afternoon, but she's quite content to hold her girlfriend and pet her while she naps.

Then Hyacinth will sleep for some time.

Sable spends the next hour or two idly messing about with ability design, for the most part.

Eventually, Hyacinth wakes up.

She looks around at the room and blinks the sleep from her eyes.

"... Sable," she croons after a moment, a smile coming to her face. "Sorry for drifting off on you. Um... What were we doing again?"

"Nothing to apologize for, Sin," she replies with a smile, stroking her fingers through her girlfriend's lavender tresses tenderly. "You were working on ability design and then had a cute nap, while I worked on the form designs and then some ability design with my headmates. We were planning to do introductions at some point."

She blushes a little, and then smiles. "Yeah. I was thinking about Meditation, and Lesser Persistent Spell. Nine nodes is really a lot! I want to make every one count if I can. Maybe I should take a closer look at the Fire tree...?"

She snuggles in. "And yeah, introductions would be wonderful."

She leans down and kisses the top of Sin's head with a nod. "Well. Before, during, or after finishing your ability design session?"

"I want to snuggle you, and thinking out loud is... really comforting to me. So could you hold me while I go through some menus?"

Hyacinth softly kisses Sable's shoulder.

Sable nods and squeezes Sin closer. One hand hugs around her waist, while the other rests just below her breast. "Conveniently, I find hearing you think out loud about ability design adorable."

"So Meditation. I was figuring that we'd use it to increase mana regen by boosting Capacity - clearly it won't work for Anamnesis, the extra slot would just go away as soon as I was done meditating - but for downtime it would be cool."

Hyacinth frowns. "You know... I wonder if it would work to boost an Intricacy passive with Meditation. If you could lock abilities with temporarily boosted Intricacy, you could get unusually dense spellwork for your level just by taking more time and effort over the preparation process..."

She leans her head against Sable. "From what I've seen, CORA really likes to reward you for having proficiency in real skills. So by introducing a real skill to the process of creating abilities..." She raises an eyebrow. "It might actually have pretty potent effects."

"Interesting. That fits what I've seen so far, and it might just work. Worth a shot, I think."

"Theoretically you might be able to use the meditation to lock a better meditation, which lets you lock an even better meditation, and so on. But in practice I don't expect it to recurse that deep, that's totally something that would require a patch and I can't be the only one to have had this idea.

"Since I want a mana regeneration meditation anyway, it's probably worth trying, I agree."

She goes into her node tree. "It'd spend three nodes to grab Meditation, Capacity, and Intricacy out of the Self tree. So then we'd want to spend the remaining six nodes in the other two trees - Ranged Casting and Persistent Spell. I didn't realize it until I brought up the menu, but it looks like I actually have an equal number of nodes in each tree, counting my starting ones."

She hums softly. "I think I'll try it. No last-minute objections?"

Is that the return of the sappy smile as her girlfriend muses about ability design theory? It might be.

She strokes Sin's hair, scritches her ears, and nods. "No objections. Seems worth a shot."

She purchases the three nodes, and assembles the resultant meditation in the builder.

[Meditation - Intricacy - Capacity]

Hopefully it locks.

There's a satisfying sense of something clicking into place as it does so.
