Every kid that comes up to her pot gets served a bowl of stew with a warm smile.

It's a pretty rowdy enterprise even with Rose and her colleagues to keep the peace, but they do get all the kids fed in the end, including one straggler who gets physically carried into the dining hall yelling about how he doesn't NEED dinner because food is FAKE and ONLY BOARD GAMES ARE REAL.

Sable stifles a giggle at that too. Goodness, kids are ridiculous. And cute.

Once everyone's fed she looks over and smiles sappily at Torok, then turns to Rose. "Anything else you want us to handle tonight?"

"Come help me look through the bunks and change any sheets that need it," she says, "there's always some."

"Okay!" She'll follow Rose to wherever clean sheets are fetched from, then take some and start looking for bunks that need changing. Easy enough.

Torok tags along too. There's a rickety cart to carry clean linens in, with a bag hanging off the end to hold the dirty ones, and Torok volunteers to push it.

Torok's a helpful sweetie and gets a fond smile.

...Probably she cannot give him the very affectionate snuggles he deserves tonight, because they will not both fit in a single bunk. Alas. All the more reason to see about getting an actual place of their own quickly.

Regardless, sheets get changed. Here's one, there's another...

The bunks are crammed into a haphazard succession of differently shaped rooms, no two quite alike. It makes navigating to each bed quite an adventure, especially with the cart; a couple of times Torok has to leave it behind in the hallway.

At the end of it all, Rose hauls the cart away and leaves the two of them in a particularly small and strangely shaped room containing just one pair of stacked bunks, which must have been carried into the room in pieces because the door is so comically narrow that Torok has to turn sideways to fit through it. "I asked for this one 'cause it's a little less loud than most places," he explains, "but we can take any bed no one's using, if you'd rather sleep somewhere else."

She flushes slightly and smiles at Torok, pulling him close and stretching up on her tip-toes a bit to kiss him softly.

"You got us a private room," she murmurs as she settles back onto the ground properly. "It's perfect. Size doesn't matter."

"Calling it a 'room' is a little generous. I got us a private closet with beds in it."

"But it doesn't contain any impressionable kids for someone to be scandalized by us cuddling too closely in view of. Which means I can attempt to fold in atop you on one of these bunks and make out with you and no one will stop me."
