[This broadcast takes place right after Freedom's second on-screen interview.]
Hello and welcome. For the next hour or so, instead of the normal broadcast on this frequency, I, Emmet Sophian, will be telling you about my god, Gruhastha.
I wanted to do that on Freedom Radio, they are doing educational broadcasts on different gods. And their values of fighting ignorance are exactly mine, and Gruhastha's, values. But not being a high circle cleric of a big international church, I couldn’t get in touch with them. Makes perfect sense.
“Emmet Sophian”, to clarify, isn’t my real name. My real name I can’t tell you, for Reasons. I am committed to truth, but truth doesn’t always mean openness, often an honest “no I won’t tell you” is the purest form of truth.
Also, forgive me for not being the most eloquent, and using suboptimal phrasings. There are certainly better ways to say what I want to tell you. Unfortunately, there is no one else to tell those specific things, so I will have to do it, to the best of my ability.
Beaivi. Neutral Good. Deity of transformation, renewal, and healing from ailments of the mind. If you struggle with addiction, if you feel overpowering anger preventing you from acting right, or have trouble being sure what is real and what isn’t, and you want to change…there Is hope, and a change can happen. You should go to the people who are good at helping in such cases. Which may be the churches of gods like Sarenrae. Or community leaders that are trusted and known to help guide people in spiritual problems. But in addition, you should pray to Beaivi, for you deserve the blessing. And hopefully there might be more clerics of Beaivi, at some time or in some place, to help more.
No matter how doomed you feel, things always can become better, even if they not always will. It is a lesson I am very happy I learned.
Beaivi also favors lizardfolk, and might be an ascended lizardfolk? I don’t know. The information is extremely limited.
There might be a Neutral Good deity, possibly called "Katzol", worshiped in the far lands of Arcadia (about which not much is known), that is a patron of friendship and community. But in that conception, community is not a goal in itself, and is desirable only as long as it is good. If anything is bad about the community, it is your duty to oppose it, or leave it if your opposition is hopeless. That is a big difference from the way community is usually perceived as a theological goal, and is why I listed this deity (if what I know of it is true. It might not be) in my list, and not, say, Erastil.
There might be, if the vague rumors I heard are true, some Neutral Good or True Neutral deity of personal sacrifice, and doing hard painful things that are important to you. I am again a little ambivalent about this. Sacrifice is important to achieve things. But sacrifice should never be your goal, it needs to be appreciated, but not idolized. Also, remember that it’s only your sacrifice. “Sacrificing” other people or their well-being is not sacrifice, it is just exploitation. But again, very limited information.
And of course, you do not have to worship gods. If you did not find anyone that fit you. Or if you on principle do not like gods. I think atheism is a very coherent position to hold. And the belief that philosophies and ideologies that are true are true regardless of gods, and so should not at all be viewed in the context of which god is responsible for a philosophy or represents it. I find this approach to be less useful, harder to talk about, and gods and churches are an important part of the world, so just ignoring them is a mistake. But there is a sense in which such an approach is closer to truth, and is the approach a person who wants to rediscover and prove all the truth from scratch should choose.
Though I am still a believer of the thing I call “Gruhasthan teachings/vision”, for simplicity.
Ok, now I am really out of time.
Hope you found some good in my broadcast!
Communication is important. You cannot use radio to reply to me, unfortunately. But if you really want to answer me, you can write a letter. I am in contact with some groups that distribute letters at great ranges for low prices. They have points in Andoran in Absalom. Maybe more will be opened at some point! (Though the radio actually makes it less important. I think.)
If you have something to say to me, do that! Even if your letter reaches me in 5 years, or 15, I will be glad to get it, if I am still alive.
Or maybe if you are rich enough you can Sending me, but I don’t expect anyone rich enough to care. And am afraid that even if you are rich, talking to me is a waste of money.
This was Emmet Sophian. Grow wiser, and seek the truth!
