The year is 429 TR. Fatebinder Ophelia has been placed in control of Lethian's Crossing, a strategic source of forged iron and a somewhat significant travel chokepoint on the north edge of Haven, one of the Tiers. The iron weapons forged here are crucial to the Conquest of the Tiers, initiated by Kyros in 428 TR, which is proceeding elsewhere in the Tiers.
There has recently been a dispute between the two armies operating in the Tiers - the Disfavored, an elite iron-clad brotherhood who follow Graven Ashe the Archon of War, and the Scarlet Chorus, the horde overseen by the Voices of Nerat the Archon of Secrets. Nerat's subordinate, Sirin the Archon of Mind Control Song, has been indiscriminately 'recruiting' new conscripts for the Chorus in and near the Crossing, and she has coopted one of the soldiers of the Disfavored. They are very annoyed, and, firstly, want him back, and secondly want her to stop recruiting anywhere near them or any other loyal citizens of Kyros. The Chorus, naturally, want to keep what they took and send them to the front lines, as is their tradition.
Resolving disputes between competing Archons and their followers and domains being what Fatebinders are for, Ophelia has asked Sirin to meet her in mostly-neutral ground to discuss the matter.
