Cynthia stares, making sure she gets inside, before letting out a yawn and walking back to her house. Nobody would be there to note any absence.

Sleep proceeds uninterrupted, until the grand equalizer that is the alarm to get ready for school. Silly Thursday night parties or no, Friday demands its day of attention no matter how tired you might be.

Yes, yes it does. Thea really shouldn't have gone to that party.

She manages to get out of bed on time, and she wakes up pretty quickly, then has a shower, eats breakfast, and grabs her bag and is out the door.

At lunchtime, Thea can be found in the cafeteria, speaking to some of her friends who didn't go to the nightmare party. She seems a bit subdued.

As narrative causality demands, off to the side alone at a table sits Cynthia. She's eating and using a pencil within a notebook, using both hands on different tasks at the same time. She's atleast wearing a new day's set of clothes?

Thea turns to the girl next to her and spots Cynthia at the edge of the room.

... Okay. Well. Uh. "Hey, Jessica, who's that?" she asks, pointing in Cynthia's direction.

"Hm? Oh. I don't know – she might be in my math class?"

Thea frowns a bit pensively. "Uh, I'll be right back, okay?" she says, then gets up and makes her way over.

She isn't paying attention. It's atleast noticeable she's drawing something into the notebook from closer, but without leaning over her it's obscured enough by her hair. She isn't going to magically snap her head up when she walks over, she's focused.

Noticing the lack of convenient response, Thea says, "Hi."

It takes her a second to realize it was directed towards her, before she stops her actions and looks up confused. "Hi."

She takes a seat. "I don't think I've actually noticed you around before."

"Usual. People who do usually find me creepy or weird or something. Doesn't help i kinda talk to myself and my hobbies include... Well. That stuff."

"Mm. What was 'that stuff'? I didn't get a proper explanation out of you."

"The whole Midnight Hour? It's kinda there..." and then in a whisper volume, harder to hear over the cafeteria, "Call it a video-game during the day. Incase."

She returns to a normal volume. "Dunno really. Some people stumble on it. Not a clue why. Care to pick a topic first?"

>Shadows
>"Libby"
>Coffins
>Technology failing/Cars stopping
>Cynthia herself
>Others that see it

Cynthia giggles after somehow saying a video-game response list off the top of her head. She keeps eating. Not so say those are everything to talk about. The narrator finds it funny to list it as if it was such a list.

"Shadows? Are those the weird twisted monster things? Yeah, what the hell are those."

She doesn't look up, but stops drawing atleast. "The one you saw was more of a boss-monster. Special one. There's normally smaller ones running around but last night was a full moon, so... Yeah. They show up within the Midnight Hour, and if you don't annoy them they'll usually hang around. My favorite one is the fish-bones that float around and look like they're made of glitter."

"Floating fish bones that look like they're made of glitter," she repeats, looking unamused. "Do you have any idea why there are floating fish bones that look like they're made of glitter? Or, you know, why any of this is happening?"

The answer is a resounding "Noooooooooope."

Of course it is. "Okay, well, who else is awake when it happens? I didn't see anyone."

"Nobody else I know. All coffins." she pauses her eating for a moment, head still facing downward. "Everyone else left."

"... What do you mean everyone else left? Were there other people?"

"Well, yeah. Two dead, found in the morning at the river. Died during the Midnight Hour. One went legitimately missing, dunno what happened, but he had some crazy stalkers anyways. Probably dead. One left, lives somewhere else now. I still try to call sometimes, never answers or says much more than 'Hello, good, busy, bye.' Hurts, I'll keep trying." She lets her hair fall in front of her face. Not crying, but not happy.

"Oh," she says. Wow, way to just ignore the signs.

"... Are you okay?"

"Ah, sorry! I'm alright. Didn't mean to say that kinda stuff, I speak dumb when I don't pay attention to talking. Too many things to think about that I never learned." Her smile is likely genuine, but it isn't hard to tell she's exaggerating it a little.

"Okay. Well, um," she looks at her watch. "I guess I'll see you tonight?"

"See you tonight, then. I think you might want to grab a heavy stick along the way, or something. Keep it nearby. Not important though."

"Uh. Right." Because normal people just have heavy sticks lying around.

She goes back over to her friends and reassures them that she's fine.

"Hey, Thea? You're totally out of it and then you go talk to the weird chick instead of us? What happened after you left last night?"

Second girl, "Party sucked, yeah, but what's up Thea! Spill it!"
