ding dong, the dungeon's dead

Almost as soon as power and phone service are back up in San Diego to a first world standard of reliability, such that people can receive targeted advertisements, there start being a fair number of ads for a party to celebrate the death of Menagerie. Any person or group with a monster of their own is welcome, on top of the espers and support involved in clearing the dungeon and some representatives from the monster zoo and some security to make sure the monsters are not stolen at or around the party. They will also be celebrating the return of now-safe monsters to their loving families, if those families do not choose to sell their finds. The whole thing is catered from one of the restaurant-boats that have sprung up in the absence of safe car transportation.

Kevin and Peeler are still in the city - he's been running a few smaller dungeons with Sinkhole just to see how it goes, she's theoretically oncall for dungeons that could use her power but in practice is enjoying the much warmer weather down here - and they're both here for the party. (Kevin to people-watch, Peeler for the animals.)

It's a bit of a hassle getting down here -- they'll likely never know how Sky made it so far up the coast -- but as Sophie's mom pointed out to her husband, when else were they going to get a chance like this? So both of them show up with Sophie herself sandwiched between them,

"Hi there!" says Traceless, unclogging the name suggestion box in front of a caged bird that has its head and body in a single winged football shape. "You got a cute one there."

Nod. She sticks close to her mother's side, but her eyes stray to the bird behind him.

"We're lucky she came to us," Sophie's mom says agreeably. "Is it all right for Sky -- our monster's name is Sky -- to wander around here, or should we keep her with us?"

"I've got event security but only what I could hire on short notice. You should be aware that they might be necessary and might not be perfect. But it’s your risk to take, and now that I know that one’s yours no zoo will buy it from a thief."

She looks uncertainly up at her mother.

She glances around the room, looks back down at her daughter, and gives her a nod. "I think it's all right, So-Hee-ah."

Oh she's being put down now! She bounces right over to the nearest other critter to say hi.

The creatures are mostly boxed up, but Traceless will take a photo of Sky if it'll let him!

"Where should I send the file on what we know about taking care of these things?"
