"Who, or what, is 'Sith'?"

"If I say 'evil space wizard cult', does that sound like an explanation?"

"That makes sense." Velra is from Golarion. "There's a weird thing shaped like a big egg that gives you whatever you ask it for, do you have any idea what it is?" If Wizard Guy wanted her not to help people trying to get in he could have, like, told her that.

"Sounds like the sort of thing I was hired to retrieve after breaking in."

"Hired by who?"

"Imperial Reclamation Corps. They're part of the Empire, so they work for the Sith, digging up old tombs and lost sites and such for anything that's valuable in the modern day. Think archaeologists, but with guns."

'Guns' are the shooting things, right. (This would have been way more complicated if the machine that summoned her hadn't taught her the language, she'd have to communicate entirely in charades).

"Why are you working for an evil space wizard cult. That sounds dumb. Are they the kind of evil where they still reliably keep their promises, or do you not have better options?"

"I try to keep at least one layer of middleman between me and any actual Sith. But the pay is good and the constant infighting means they generally don't care if I was on a job against some other Imperial interest last week. More than likely that was their competition for the next promotion."

"And there aren't equally paying people who don't constantly wreck everything they're able to?"

"Not really, no. Imps tend to have a deeper pocketbook than independent outfits, the Hutts aren't... better... and the Republic does things like care about the jobs I've done for their enemy."

As a rule, Velra prefers things with names that involve words like "Republic" to things that involve words like "Empire". It's an Andorani thing. She's going to wait till she actually knows anything about the Republic before trying to convince—actually she never introduced herself?

"I'm Velra, by the way."

"Kayra."

"So. What's your play from here?"

"I want to get back to my planet eventually, if anyone knows where it is. Until then I guess I'll go around adventuring, I was going to do that at some point anyway and it might as well be now. In the short term I think we should talk to the guy who summoned me here, maybe there are other people here too."

"If you can get me past those big guns, that'd be a help."

Is there an obvious way to make them stop? (Or a less obvious way, she has +10 to Perception and she'll spend thirty seconds looking around).

There's not a nice "OFF" switch, no. But she will remember that the guns and droids did not target her during the fight, and in fact avoided shooting near her at all. They aren't any more aggressive now as she pokes around the room after the battle. Perhaps if Kayra sticks close, she will be able shield her with her body.

Maybe the thing that summoned her makes the weapons here like her? But they're not intelligent such that she could tell them to stop—she should test that.

"I think that they don't want to hit me. If that's it I can probably just block their line of fire but there might be more than that."

Does anything happen if she orders them to stand down?

Surprisingly enough, they listen. The droids march back and shut down along the back wall while the turrets fold up and power down with a soft whine.
