Silence, those two.

"...For fuck's sake will the two of you agree that people being healed is better than not that.

"Commander.  I was actually invited to help, though I don't know if you'd have seen why that was.  Would you mind if I confirmed that your present condition is as you've said so that this healer who is trying to help might go where they are needed?"

Release.

"As far as I know Priestess Linare is correct. I have orders to keep succubi away from Aramite soldiers and civilians and I intend to follow them." He sounds very tired. "Also, who are you? Who invited you? I haven't heard of this."

"One half of the people who just killed that utter disgrace to the title who had the temerity to call himself the Incubus King."

She turns to the succubus.  "You can't make people be helped, I'm afraid to say, without taking a step onto the slippery slope that leads to another blasted wastrel with absurd power.  Sometimes you have to, but here and now I do not yet have reason to believe that's the case."

...Hey, triage algorithms?  What've you got?

Nobody is dying who isn't already dead. Some of them are suffering. Painkillers aren't really a thing here.

The succubus bites her lip, then turns and runs off back towards the orcy part of camp.

An idle shift covers the unnecessary but helpful somatic component of a message.

::For what it's worth, there really isn't anyone at immediate risk.  You're doing a good thing to offer help, as far as I'm concerned.  Hopefully there will be people who'll accept it.::

"Right.  That's sorted.  Anyway, I don't believe I'm your problem.  Would you be so kind as to point me to whoever's problem I actually am?"

Armor Guy shrugs and gestures vaguely.

"The Inquisition would like to speak to you, if you are free," Mask Guy butts in.

"...I suppose I'm not busy."

Nod. Walking a short distance away. Deploying a basic low-power conversation muffling spell that's built into the mask.

"Lady archmage, slayer of the Incubus King... We have observed that you seem unfamiliar with local history and politics, so we would like to offer to answer any and all questions you have in order to advise you. Many of us in Aram are coming to fear that you will ... face unfortunate ignorance of local conditions when deciding what to do. On orders of High Priestess Esmera, the Aram branch of Ivala's inquisition is at your service, informationally speaking. We hope that you take this as a gesture of good will."

She nods.  A useful gesture, that, because she can just Not Say Anything.

"Well, then.  You believe I will face unfortunate ignorance of local conditions.  Please do inform me of local conditions.  Speaking of local conditions, in fact, what is an 'Unperson'?"

"The Unpeople are volunteer humans who have had their souls altered to remove sexuality. This renders them immune to succubus magic and also capable of magical attacks that succubi and orcs are weak to. They were created as a desperation weapon during the Second Arclentian War by Ardoheim, a war which everyone else on the continent was badly losing, which was destroying vast swathes of land, causing immense death and suffering and rape to anyone who could not evacuate... They fought against the Incubus King's forces extremely effectively. While we have a few Unpeople still living in Aram, the majority of those who remain live in Ardoheim."

"...Right."  She doesn't know what she expected.

...How in the fuck - is 'sexuality' some kind of primitive in whatever this world's system is?!

Probably.  But still, what the actual fuck.  Why did she land in Harem-Animelandia?

"And what do you think I should otherwise know?"

"There are more Incubus Kings, many equally as evil. The power cannot be trusted and we again advise you against trusting the Doom King. If you wish to do good in the world, destroying Incubus Kings is a fine way to do so. Aram is going to have a famine later this year. Seeing the Incubus King's increasing preparations for war, a general mobilization interrupted the planting season and reduced anti-monster defenses in other parts of the country. Disruptions to trade with Yhilin due to the Doom King conquering it has also hurt Aram recently. We would welcome any aid you could give on these matters, particularly relating to food or clearing increasingly problematic desert monsters. High Priestess Esmera invites you to meet with her at your leisure, and understands that you are likely very busy right now."

'Again'.  So they do have a rather impressive level of coordination.

"I, personally, can't do much for famine.  I can just about manage water.  I do, however, have lines of contact to people who can, if there's somewhere I can set up to get them.

"Other people of such inveterate evil, you say.  Yes, I think that seems like something to do something about."

"I may be busy, but Aram is what I have decided to be presently busy with."

"We appreciate it. I should find people who know where aid is most urgently required; The situation is moving quickly enough that I don't have that yet. For now, Ivala go with you."

"...It occurs to me that I don't actually know anything about Ivala."
