Ril is a curious child, both in the sense of wanting to explore and learn and in the sense of being slightly out of sync with those around her. She plays some with the other children, but she much prefers playing with magic, blood magic is as natural as breathing, as befits her nature as an Entite, and in the Red there's lots of blood around to play with. She's often found with ribbons of blood swirling around each of her six arms and matching the deep red of her skin. Using magic also makes her tattoos light up matching the inner glow that leaks through her skin at all times.
Her guardian, a tentacle pit named Illyria says that those Tattoos are in large part responsible for her fast mana regeneration and how on top of that she can do more magic with the same amount of mana as other people.
Illyria always encourages her experiments with magic. Ril spends many a day coming up with new things to show off to them.
She just wishes Illyria was more willing to install new rune nodes for her. There are so many more types of magic she can't play with yet.
After the umpteenth time Ril asks, Illyria sets her a challenge; if Ril can do one of her harder routines without any gestures or words Illyria will install one new runenode. The challenge is issued when Ril is six.
Even with her prodigious talent it takes her until she's ten.
She's put a lot of thought in the intervening years into which node she wants installed. Her first thought was flesh magic, it seemed like the natural extension of her beloved blood but Illyria insists that's a bit too dangerous and will have to wait until she's older. Instead she settles on the Construct set.
Soon she's jumping between platforms that weren't there a second ago and incorporating glowing duplicates of people nearby into her magic shows.
