"I assume you typically get deployed to dungeons with hostile environments?"

"Yes. I rarely am the first one to go in. Most of my jobs have been rescuing victims once the monsters have been dealt with. I can shoot well but I don't have any offensive or defensive powers — I can't protect myself from monster claws or anything like that. I also get called into psychic dungeons because my power removes illusions and psychic hazards too."

"I'm still figuring out my niche, but the nature of my power means I'm terrible at crowd-control but great at dealing with singular powerful monsters, like boss monsters. So perhaps I'd get sent it first and you second, or maybe we both go together to get incidental guiding in?"

"Makes sense."

"Oh, that reminds me, I should guide that backlash off of you." He offers his hand to him.

"Thank you!" He accepts and takes his hand in his.

Guiding feels really really really good.

He feels so lucky, to have found such a compatible partner this quickly.
