It objects loudly - it's one of the loudest things in the dungeon now that many of the machines have been taken apart - and tries to gain purchase on objects and Tim, and claw April's arm off and failing that her shirt, and whips its tail around. To no avail.

A hairline crack appears in reality.

"Shit!"  He inhales quickly, then hollers at Extremely Loud volumes, "IT'S RUNNING!  PACK IT IN!  April, let's go!"

"I c'n get him," she pants, and her ungainly staggering in the direction of the box straightens out abruptly.

With a mighty flop, the lizard tumbles in. She slams the lid - the lizard's tail is in the way - the lizard's tail is truncated with a brush of her hand, and the lid snaps closed. She hoists one end of the box and makes for the portal.

DRT guys are jogging out, throwing bags and jumping after them, except for one who's got the core and is counting heads. The guys make a break in the line for the espers but look incredulously at the box.

Well, he can maybe fix that tail later.  His power flares through his body and his side of the box goes up.  He hotfoots it anxiously - his power can let him recover from everything, but zero powers can save you from being trapped in a dungeon.

Hauling her end of the box behind her, she moves at a quick and steady jog, as light on her feet as though she were fully unencumbered. If Tim pushes the pace behind her, she can keep up just fine.

Espers and a box go out the portal! They should get out of the way quick before somebody plows into them!

Man, it's so weird how she's got ... whatever she has.  She just doesn't stop.  He's happy to jog April-anna-box wherever the local organizer thinks a Boxful of Lizard will bring good feng shui.

Over there out of the way!

April hustles her end of the box over there, then.

GRRHOOORAAARGGHHHHH goes the boxed lizard, thrashing the limited amount the box affords.

As soon as they've got it set down, she finishes doing up the various external fastenings to make doubly sure of the lid staying in place.

The man who just carried an entire half-ton Half-A-Box of Lizard with his own two hands grins at April.  "See?  Easy.  Piece of cake."  He'll check his side while April checks hers.

The last DRT guy is out as the portal changes color.

A minute later, it's gone.

The roaring ceases.

That's...not a great sign......

"...should I...open it back up?" she wonders.

"Yeah.  But let's maybe try that in a room with fewer people.  If it lived, it might still be scared.  If it's dead, we can...figure something out."  Usually a cooler full of ice is enough, this thing's huge.  I guess we'd pay a cold storage truck..?  Put it in a grocery store walk-in freezer, before it rots?

"Wait a sec.  I'm stupid, I literally have a sensor power for this."  It'll be more expensive, since he can't see the target.  But he knows it's there, or should be.  Do we have a living lizard?

He shakes his head.  "Nope.  Sorry." He feels like he should feel bad about it, but he does not actually make a point of cultivating empathy for dungeon monsters that he routinely slaughters.  So.  He'll experience a sense of 'eh, bummer.  oh well.' instead of anything more profound.

"Who buys lizard corpses? Gotta be somebody. For, like, science."

"Yeah, we wanna have someone get it on ice.  You wanna call your agent?  Or uh, maybe have Sean do it, while we guide?"  Will April take his hand?

"Yeah."

That's quite a chunk of backlash on her - she must've been really pushing it, to get the lizard boxed and out the door before the portal came down. She heads for Sean's car to update him on the situation.

"...I will... figure that out too, I guess." Hey internet, who buys lizard corpses? And how can he keep this one in good condition long enough to get it to them?

Dunmat wet labs will take monster bodies. There is a standard lowball rate at which the Toronto Parabiology Institute will purchase a carcass in any condition by the pound if he’s in a hurry and doesn’t care to negotiate, but negotiation might improve payout by a factor of twenty, depending.
