Dear Traceless,
I am a new esper from the Philippines who has signed with Quasar Guild. My power is controlling the movements of sentient creatures for short periods (on the order of seconds), which includes dungeon monsters. It has been mentioned to me that this power would be very useful for capturing monsters. I agree with you in thinking that more basic research of dungeons is necessary, including the study of dungeon monsters, so I would like to help with this.
I would be very happy to receive advice from you about dungeon monster capture best practices and how I could coordinate or arrange for the transport and research of captured monsters, since I do not think there are any places outside of the Ontario Monster Park which can permanently host monsters. It seems to me that dungeon monster capture infrastructure is less well developed outside of North America.
Yours sincerely,
Lawrence Lacson
What's the rate calculation for teleporting a cage based on cage size and distance from Seoul?
Lawrence forwards a message from the Quasar teleport management office.
Cages are hollow so teleporting one isn't as expensive as teleporting a person, but you probably want to teleport in more than one. And it's still a teleport. Teleport prices are, for whatever reason, more expensive currently, even accounting for the fact that there is increased teleport demand due to there being a confluence. The price of the cage is very small compared to the teleport price.
That might be worth it if you stocked cages appropriate for tricker monsters. Menagerie, I can probably secure them with paracord till I hit up a Petsmart.
as long as you keep them someplace where you can be sure nobody will set them off, in any case.
My backlash makes that difficult so that's less possible for me. If you can give me the specifications for the kind of cages that you want/would use for trickier monsters, I can order them now and stock them in the Quasar warehouses. There will be a monthly holding fee.
He forwards another message. The holding fee is, like the cost of the cage itself, small compared to the teleport.
I'll talk that over with OMP and they'll get back to you about what we're hoping will show up besides Menagerie that might want special handling, that's probably worth it for a couple kinds of possible fancy tanks.
No problem! Feel free to contact them directly with the forwarded email address, by the way.
Confirmed sightings of Menagerie monsters in San Diego, California. I will teleport there soon.
Lawrence appends the coordinates that he'll be appearing in.
Unfortunately it appears that logistical efforts in that regard are going to be severely constrained. But the monsters need to be contained regardless so I will be offering my services.
