"Of course. I will do my best to show you what little I can of our city, in the time we have." He's a wizard and could presumably fly them around, but wizards are often strangely reluctant to use magic.

His aunt is obviously planning something, and this doesn't feel right for just courting a new Seventh-Circle. There aren't a huge number of those even in the city, but there are some.

Metals: no skyscrapers or cars or anything like that (though some of the stone buildings here are much larger than you'd expect for how old they look, and the looming shape of the Grand Palace Imperial is huge), and more noticeably, no metal fences or bars. Metal railings are rare. There is, incongruously, a beautiful and ornate metal bridge over a canal with water rather bluer and cleaner than you might expect. There's also Silver Street, visible like a straight river in the near distance, which his host will explain was made with the armour of an invading army that surrendered peacefully when the Prophet himself went to speak to them personally. This is the ancient Pillar of Maytha, said to have been dragged out of the desert at Pelor's holy command, thirty feet tall, covered in indecipherable onyx glyphs, and seemingly made of pure gold. It has a small crowd of pilgrims around it, touching it reverently, but it seems brand new, not even smudged.

The issue with the rest of his questions is that his host isn't particularly taking him near markets, exactly, more along the canalside. He could ask!
